Spiritual Assessment
This spiritual assessment allowed me to discuss experiences in my life naturally. The open-ended questions allowed me to narrate and the questioner to branch off my story with new questions. As I answered the questions, new doors opened up and I discovered uncovered truths of my personal account. I felt at ease with the assessment questions because they were not intrusive or suggestive. When a social worker implements a implicit spiritual assessment, they should be open, receptive, interested, and respectful to what is important to the client (Canda & Furman, 2010, p. 264).
