I have worked at my parent’s small convenience store as a clerk for the past four years. My experience working there taught me about the social and financial sides of business. Each time customers came in, I made sure to ask them how their day was in order to create a connection and if they were regular customers I made a point to remark on a topic they brought up on their last visit. By taking the time to get to know customers I was able to create personal …show more content…
relationships with the customers which is a vital part of creating customer loyalty. My ability to work with different people was bolstered in high school while I was the student body president. My main duty was to lead the coordination of school-wide events like pep rallies and assemblies. To put on these events, I had to work with different social groups within the school which taught me how to change how I approached giving the same proposal to different kinds of people. Along with that I learned how to accept other visions of the same goal and taking them into account to create something greater than originally intended.
As a result of my work and leadership experience, I have gained the traits that your fraternity desires such as: responsibility, organization, leadership, and professionalism.
I understand that as a current economics student at the University of California, Irvine, being a part of Delta Sigma Pi will help me grow greatly in my personal and professional life. Not only do I want to gain but I also want to give back to the brotherhood by lending my knowledge in creating personal relationships and planning social events for the enjoyment of fellow brothers. I am excited to be given this opportunity and appreciative to be considered. Thank you for your
time.
