There are many reasons why I want to attend Archbishop Mitty High School. The academics are very advanced, which would allow me to reach my academic goals within the school. Another reason I want to attend Archbishop Mitty is the variety of after-school activities and clubs. I hope to participate in as many clubs as I can, in and outside of school. I initially considered Lewis and Clark Law School, as it seemed like a natural choice after attending Lewis & Clark College as an undergraduate, and never leaving Portland. Although I am considering moving from Portland for law school, I would be happy to stay here and continue to enjoy all this city has to offer. I love the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and am already acquainted with the gorgeous forest surrounding Lewis and Clark, which is a great place for a peaceful walk to clear one’s head. I also appreciate many other things this city has to offer from delicious food, and especially coffee, to friendly people.…

I can definitively, and honestly state that Paul L. Foster School of Medicine is the school of which I have the greatest interest in attending. For eighteen years, I have called the border city of El Paso my home. Our amiable and uniquely culturally diverse population is the reason that I have found living in El Paso to be extremely comforting. The loving nature of the people of El Paso allowed me to develop many friendships, which helped create countless beautiful memories. I want nothing more than to continue my education in El Paso, and to watch this city continue to evolve. Further, I wish to practice medicine in this community which has given so much to my family and me.…

While attending Lewis & Clark College I will foster my passion for nature, environmental advocacy, and politics. Participating in things like the Environmental Living Learning Community will provide an engaging and enriching space to form long-lasting connections with people who share the same desire to promote environmental sustainability. Portland and the beautifully wooded campus at Lewis & Clark provide the type of natural environment that inspires my initiative for environmental advocacy. I look forward to exploring the opportunities near and within Portland, including the many hiking trails. The outdoors have been an important part of my life since childhood. Looking back, some of my happiest memories are from visiting National Parks,…

Over the course of my day at Shepherdstown elementary I learned a lot more than I thought would even be possible. I witnessed both the good and bad moments during my one short day. Mrs. Austin seemed to have it all together, she was an amazing role model in the classroom and showed me what I should and shouldn’t do in certain situations. Observing the classroom showed me that I need to learn a lot of vital information throughout the program at Shepherd in order to be able to become successful in the classroom one day. When I started my day at Shepherdstown Elementary, I had mixed feelings. I was passionate and eager to be there but I also felt a sense of intimidation and fear when I started interacting with the students. I began to watch the teachers and see what they were doing. After sitting in the classroom and getting adjusted, my feelings had transformed. I started becoming more comfortable and feeling a lot better about where I was. By the end of the day I had a remarkable time and I cannot wait to have a classroom of my own one-day.…

I would love to be in the National Honor Society, I was a part of the National Junior Honor Society at Sawtooth Middle School and I enjoyed it very much. I had so much fun being apart of the NJHS and that group of people. I love being apart of my community and being able to take action. One reason you should consider me for NHS is volunteering is a big part of my life already. I volunteer at Meridian Elementary and at the Boise Humane Society. At Meridian Elementary I help in the library with the classes and book fairs. I walk and play with the dogs at the Boise Humane Society with my friends. I am also in the Upward Bound program where we volunteer at the Boise Food Bank and the Boise Rescue Mission. I work extremely hard to keep my GPA up…

Today I received a message in my student email about my academic progress. I was denied Financial Aid due to my poor academic performance my 2015-2016 semester at Mesa Community College. The reason for not meeting academic requirements the previous semester was because of my lack of organization with working, sports, and studying. I take full responsibility in not putting my academics before sports and work leading me to write this letter. I truly believed I could juggle working 20 hours a week as a swim instructor and also be a student-athlete for Mesa Community College while maintaining strong grades. I soon found myself struggling in classes and doing poorly on exams because I was not using my time correctly and pushing my school work to the side. In high school I worked as a swim instructor and ran cross country as I am now, I put little effort into studying and did what I had to do to get by. Those poor habits followed me into college and are now backfiring with proof through my GPA.…

I am honored to be among all of the exemplary students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. This is an organization I have looked forward to being in since the beginning of my high schools career. After researching the National Honor Society I have found that they recognize students who show outstanding qualities of leadership, scholarship, character and service. I am also apart of other organizations, FFA, Interact, Praise Band, and Church Youth Group, that I work very hard in to grow in these qualities.…

The mission of the Honors College is something that represents the environment I enjoy and thrive in. Firstly, the community surrounding education and conversation is something unique and truly mesmerizing. I know that I am in a good place when my peers thoroughly enjoy discussing a multitude of topics, regardless of who they are, what they’re studying, and where they’ve come from. The Honors College is one of these places that gives everyone a voice and the ability to generate open discussions on various topics. Also, the undergraduate research that the Honors College provides will enable me to continue connecting with professors and delve into my passions within my major. Mr. Bill Robinson, an Associate Professor of Management in the Krannert School, is an example of a professor that I see myself bonding with over our interest in new product development. The opportunities to learn alongside professors and seek extra help when needed, is beneficial to learning wholeheartedly. Thirdly, the value student leadership is a wonderful aspect of the Honors College. As Claire Lee, a current Honors College student said in the informational video about leadership development within the program, “student leadership combines the academics at Purdue with the real world experience.” The ability to apply knowledge…

I attended Ketchum High School in Ketchum, Oklahoma. My school’s mission statement was: “Educating all students in a safe, positive environment through rigorous standards to develop productive members of society. Through accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, data driven decisions, equity, high expectations, and integrity.” One example of my school’s athletic department supporting this statement is through accountability. My basketball coach would find out each of his players’ schedules and have a meeting every two weeks with their teachers. He would access their grades and their behavior throughout class, and would either congratulate you or punish you depending on the answer he was given. Another example of supporting this…

I believe that I have demonstrated in the course of my Baldwin school years these traits and much more. I work hard to get the best grades possible and focus on the studies given to me. I would not only like to, but be considered for membership within the NEHS, NMHS, and SMHS because it would make my parents and family proud. I also want to be a good role model for my sisters, who are just now entering their journey in their education. Especially for my younger sister, who is in 6th grade and in 2 years will enter high school. It would be an honor to be a member of the Honor Societies to make my parents proud and be an example/role model to my sisters. My parents made many sacrifices to get me and my sisters a better education then they did. I come from Mexico and my parents didn't have the same opportunities for education like I have right now and I have to thank them because they left their families to come to an unknown place with an unknown language just so I could study and have a better life then they did.…

I want to be a Hokie so that I may feel the vibrations emanating from Lane Stadium fans as my team takes to the field with Enter Sandman playing on the loud speakers. I’ll stand at attention, as will the hair along my arms, and know that I belong to something much greater than can be express by words along but will passionately spend a lifetime trying to. I want to look my future employer in the eyes, firmly shake hands, and be confident that my alma mater has prepared me well.
