Stereotyping

“A “stereotype” is a generalization about a person or group of persons”. Most people develop stereotypes when they are reluctant to obtain all of the information we would need to make fair assessment about another person, formulating a negative picture, filling in the blanks in many situations, which can lead to extreme prejudice and discrimination. Stereotyping is evident in our everyday lives, from our law makers to our law enforcement and citizens. As an example, being stop by a law enforcement officer for no reason, or going in a department store and being watch.
