Student Success Linked to Motivation

The inner feeling each and everyone of us gets upon accomplishing something planned or attempted is indeniably one tied to success,which coms as a result of us making it our responsibility. In order to be successful in life, a proper dosage of motivation and commitment is vital. In "Student Success Linked to Motivation, study suggests" in The Daily Free Press,Trisha Thadani comes up with factors that could be considered to motivate students to success, hence leading to a successful life. In this article, Thadani elaborates on the factors which could eventually lead to a student's success by illustrating the views of some well renowned authors, student's personal experiences as well as hers. Upon reading her article, I tend to be partially inclined to her views but not all as shall be illustrated in my forthcoming arguments below.

Firstly, Thadani writes, "Josh Falkon, a school of Management junior, said a lack of money can be a positive factor for a student rather than a negative one... Falkon said if students disregard passion and instead focus on financial goals they are less likely to succeed, regardless of their demographic backgrounds." Upon reading this argument raised by Thadani,I came to understand that poverty could be a positive factor for a student's success, yet I don't totally agree per my United States of America experiences. It came to me as a cultural shock when upon going at Irvine valley College, I came across a good number of smart and low income students who have been going to the afore mentioned school past the required number of years needed to graduate which is three years. A vast majority of them were already eligible to transfer to a four year institution yet they didn't simply because by staying at IVC, they could still benefit from some government financial aid, hence demonstrating that the only motivation they had was hinged to money and not the thought of a better future which one shouldn't fail to mention doesn't apply to all cases
