Summary Of Martyn Pig
I chose the book “Martyn Pig”. I chose this book because the plot line is strong along with the character development. The story is about a boy who gets made fun of because of his name. His father is a drunk and would occasionally yell at him but most of the time he would just be passed out. Until one night when his father was yelling at him for something he didn’t do, Martny made the wrong move of talking back. His father made an attempt to hit him but not until Martyn pushed him back. His dad went falling down and on the way hit is head on the fireplace ledge. He’s dead. Martin started to freak out. He didn't know whether he should call the police because he was scared he will be blamed for. He eventually placed the body on his dad’s bed.

Summary of The Whole Hog by James Le Fanu We cannot underestimate the happiness and well-being contributed to our lives by pigs. In Victorian times, not having a pig was unthinkable. From it’s purchase as a piglet, it would grow and transform waste into goodness, ‘so little into so much’. Even it’s dung would go to use, fertilising the cottage garden.…

A French journalist named Sandra Muller began a social media campaign with the hashtag #BalanceTonPorc (“Expose Your Pig”), for women to share their experiences of sexual harassment. She turned to Twitter to write about an inappropriate and humiliating comment said from a powerful French executive. Thousands of women were impacted by her story and decided to write about their own experiences. They posted disturbing accounts of sexual harassment and abuse, although most did not want to identify their harassers. France has endured a sexist culture where men are enabled to misbehave with impunity, but the social media campaign may push forward changes not only in culture but in the law too.…

Although these pigs were not wealthy and were severely malnourished, they built a community called Bacon Town. Bacon Town was located on the bottom of the hill and contained identical charcoal black houses with withered brown shutters and sturdy ash colored doors. At the top of the hill, was a blood red house that stood out amongst the rest of the dreary houses, which belonged to the Wolf.…

Martin was able to enter the house in the empty night, he used means to commit the crime. While in Mrs. Barrows home, the narrator states, “On it lay a metal paper knife with an ornate handle. Would it be sharp enough? He reached for it and knocked over a small brass jar.” (p 4) This is Martin thinking of violence in the situation, and although he does not stab her or harm her physically, he still reached for something sharp. Martin making noise and knocking things over in Barrows home is proof that he was there, and also probably distracted her, leaving her caught off guard for when Martin states the threatening words about Mr. Fitweiler. For a man that does not smoke, Mr. Martin brought and smoked cigarettes in Mrs. Barrows home. The narrator states “He tapped his cigarette out in the ashtray and put the pack of Camels on the coffee table.” (4) Martin purposefully leaves these cigarettes on Mrs. Barrows table, almost to make her feel crazy. He wants her to know he was there, but he does not think that anybody will ever believe her, leaving these cigarettes to be used as torture. The means that Martin uses may not be completely responsible for the words he said, but did seem to make his first actions convincible and…

In the novel ‘The Pigman’ there are 2 teenagers Lorraine and John who play a prank on an old lonely man named Mr.Pignati. They soon realize after meeting Mr.Pignati in person, that he is actually a very nice man. They find out that he is very fun and cool to hang out with, and they find out about his sad past. They nickname this man The Pigman. Both John and Lorraine have a bad relationship with their parents so they like avoiding them and they just go to Mr.Pignati house. Since day one, Mr.Pignati has treated Lorraine and John like his children by giving gifts, wine, food and more. One day, while Mr.Pignati was at the hospital because of his recent heart attack, John convinced Lorraine to have a little party at the Pigman’s house. Lorraine who agreed, invited their friends and soon the “little party” turned out to be out control, causing them to break Mr.Pignati wife’s collection of porcelain pigs. When Mr.Pignati finds the house a mess, and that the collection of porcelain pigs that belonged to his wife who passed away was broken, and that John and Lorraine were responsible, he was hurt. To make up for being irresponsible they go see Bobo, but when they find out that Bobo died, Mr.Pignati passes away as well. In my opinion I think the cause of Mr.Pignati’s death is John, Lorraine and Mr.Pignati’s fault for several reasons.…

Anger is a strong emotion we experience and, more often than not, is provoked by a special thing. Likewise, the book “The Pigman” elicited anger within me through certain scenes. The most intense scene was on chapter thirteen; when John decided to take advantage of Mr. Pignati’s trust and throw a party at his house. Wasn’t it enough that Mr. Pignati treated John like his own son, but he had to invite people for beer? Not only that, but on page 142 Norton smashed the White Pig that meant a lot to Mr. Pignati. Reading that event made me beyond angry, that I wished I could dive in the book and reverse Norton’s actions. John himself voiced my thoughts vividly, “I felt like Killing Norton as I plowed into him, punching his face like it was a sack…
