The “Trouble in the Truss Construction Shop” scenario creates many more questions than answers. The incident at hand created a chain reaction of problems with safety in the workplace, quality of the engineering or manufacturing, potential loss of sales, low morale, and fear of job security. The cons are with the continuation of ignorance of the company they could be potentially selling a defective product in mass quantities that can seriously injury the people working with the truss’s to build homes, and after the homes are built they could be putting many families in harm’s way as well. Communicate with the employees that their jobs are secure and that the investigation is to ensure the safety of all employees. Communicate to the customers that there will be a delay in shipping and tell them why, not necessarily all the details but explain that this is in their best interest. If they are thinking about pulling the order, entice them with different levels of discounts or perks depending on how well the conversation went. Communicate to the investors the bare minimum, let them know there was a delay in production but give them a timeline as to when production should resume. If needed the company should bring in an unbiased third party to investigate, give them the no later than date and have them present the findings as to who, what and why this incident occurred. Then the company needs to examine the issue and formulate a plan of action, then begin the communication with all parties involved,
