Chipotle have been in this position before. It have pre-event plan for this crisis (Nordrum, 2015). When the crisis happened, Chipotle responded the crisis immediately. Chipotle voluntary closed 43 restaurants and worked with FDA and local health officials to test the restaurants were meeting the requirement (FDA, 2016). Chipotle do additional cleaning for all of the closed restaurants and confirm that all employees were health in this incident. Not only also implement additional safety procedure for the closed restaurants, but also its 2000 restaurants in U.S. The CEO of Chipotle apologized to consumers on newspaper and promised “Chipotle would become the safest place to eat” (Nordrum, 2015). Chipotle posted a webpage on its website; the webpage shows what Chipotle on food safety and the safety procedures on food safety (FDA, 2016).
Chipotle did very well on this crisis. Chipotle is responsible for this crisis. Chipotle have pre-event planning and preparedness. When FDA noticed that the outbreak is relate to its restaurants, Chipotle closed it restaurants immediately and began to inspect it restaurants. It is reported timeliness on this crisis. Chipotle did hide any information about crisis, all the test result and certainty crisis information can see on FDA, CDC and its website.
