Currently Steven Diaz is the only member of the Breach and Brew organization. As he expands his company and begins hiring employees we recommend finding people with experience in the coffee business seeing as he is very inexperienced in this area. We recommend Steven act as the manager of the store and spend his time there running the day-to-day operations. Hiring shift supervisors with some experience in running coffee shops as the lead employee behind the bar to lead the other employees working each shift would be the first hires. We recommend hiring 4-5 shift supervisors to ensure you can always have one in the store at all times. Then finally to fill out the rest of the staff we recommend hiring about 20 baristas/bartenders to serve the customers and make the drinks in order to have 3 working on each shift.…

When analyzing the organizational feasibility, we should examine the cultural aspect of Cupcake Confections LLC. The location of the shop will be on or around the vicinity of Virginia Commonwealth University to better target young adults. For the makeup of the restaurant, we have decided to hire 6 staff members between the ages of 16-34 years; one being a full-time manager, one being a full-time supervisor, and the other four being part-time staff. While it is a positive to have one manager throughout the day so you don’t have to split the cost for two, that leads to a drawback of the Manager burning out throughout the day. To minimize the risk of this, we will have the manager only come in during the busier shifts of the day versus staying…

The organization that I will describe today is where I work, at Applebee’s. Here we have a vertical structure that consists of the owner, general manager, four managers, and all employees directly below them. The owner has complete control and say over everything that goes on in the restaurant. The general manager receives information on how to run and operate from the owner and relay that information down to the four members of management directly below him. Their jobs are to collect information from the general manager and use that to complete their tasks and manage the employees under them. Each member of management has their own crew that they run, create schedules for, and help when problems arise. There is the kitchen manager who runs the kitchen crew and oversees the kitchen employees schedules, the food prep, and cleaning. There is also the bar manager who creates bartender schedules and training, as well as liquor costs and control. The staff manager creates schedules for the hosts and servers, controls the flow of the seating and dining experience, and ensures that the customers are happy. Finally the fourth manager is the assistant manager who can help out all managers with their duties and has basically the same responsibilities as the others but without a direct pool of employees. If business gets poor he will be able to assist every area of the restaurant.…
