It was a foggy, gloomy morning in the month of November. It was November 19, the best day ever, MY BIRTHDAY! I was turning ten. That morning at about 6:30am I jumped out of my bed with much excitement. It was a school day. I picked out my cleanest uniform I had in my closet and the cleanest shoes I had in my shoe box. I jumped in the shower and sang the whole time, until it was time to get out. It was time to get dressed and do my hair. As I was slipping on my white fluorescent polo shirt my mom quickly walked in and said “good-morning” and quickly walked out of my room. I wondered “did she forget it was my birthday”. However, I made my way to the kitchen to eat a nice healthy breakfast. I sat in front of a plate with pancakes, hash browns, scrambled eggs and bacon! As I was eating my breakfast, my little sister sat in the chair across from me, once again no had wished me a Happy Birthday. The day wasn’t over yet, as a matter of fact it had just begun. It was time go to school. As my mom, sister and I were making our way over there no one said a word. It was as if a rat had eaten our tongues. Once we arrived to school I was excited to see my friends because I knew they hadn’t forgotten my birthday. I was the one of the first ones to get to school early, so I began to form a line on the blacktop over our class room number. As my classmates began to arrive all they had told me was “hi good morning”. I was being to get a little sad. Everyone had forgotten it was MY BIRTHDAY! The day continued and it was time for recess. I didn’t want to go out so I stayed in inside. My teacher asked me what was wrong, but I didn’t want to talk to anyone. She asked me once more and I told her that nobody here at school or at my house had wished me a happy birthday. She laughed and said “you are up for a big surprise”. I didn’t know exactly what she meant but I helped
