besides the leader are blindfolded and have to make their way through a maze that includes obstacles using the instructions given by their leader. We can use this activity as an example of following instructions and listen to the leader because there will be a line of blindfolded students trying to go through the obstacles. Our second activity is the night trail which helps with a team trusting each other. In this activity, a group of people is blindfolded trying to get through obstacles by following a rope. It will also include teammates supporting each other and help with better communication. We can use this activity when there's a problem with people having a hard time working together or need an activity that would get them to work as a team. Our third activity is called a back to back drawing which helps with communication skills and helps to give clear instructions to your audience.
In this activity, there are two people sitting on the floor back to back and one person will give an instruction to draw a picture then he/she is looking at the other person. The person drawing will try to draw what the instructor is describing on the paper and then you compare their drawing to the original picture at the end. We can use this activity when there is someone that needs to pay more attention in class and it could also help with presenting a project in front of a class so you can speak clearly and make sure everyone …show more content…
understands.
Our fourth activity is trust walking. This activity helps your group by gaining trust with your group members or making trust amongst your group members. In your group, you have one leader and he or she guides someone verbally or nonverbally. The person who is blindfolded will try to get around the obstacles by listening to the person’s instructions. Your goal is to lead them to the finish line. This works best in groups of 2-3. You can use this activity for if your group has never met, to help members trust each other before you start working together. It can also be a fun way to make friends or have fun.
The fifth activity is the human knot. This will help with groups of people work as a team and trusting each other. To perform the human knot, there will be a group of 5-15 people holding hands and be tangled at first but will try to get back to a circle. They have to hold on to the other person’s hand and try to get everyone untangled by using their body to get free. We can use this activity when there is a problem with a group that is working on a project because this activity helps with trusting each other and get everyone do their part of the work to get done.
The sixth and final team building activity is the willow in the wind.
This activity helps a team or group gain confidence and trust in each other. It requires a group of six to ten people. In this activity, one person will stand in the middle blindfolded while the rest of the group circles around the blindfolded person. The blindfolded person represents ‘the willow.’ The rest of the group will form a tight circle and the blindfolded person will completely lean forward, it is important the surrounding circle catches the person and pushes them back up repeating the process again. The blindfolded person’s trust in the circle is key in this activity. Once all trust is gained the person that’s blindfolded should be able to lean in any direction and have confidence that he/she will be caught. This willow in the wind activity can be used whenever a team is struggling to work together and need better trust in each other. After this activity, the team or group will have more confidence and trust in each other and will become a better
group.
To conclude, all of these activities help with trust, communication, getting things done, and working better as a team. Using these activities will help your communication skills and will allow you to become a better group or team by using teamwork. These activities could be used anytime a team is struggling and will help make a team better.
