Team Reflective Analysis
The reflective analysing essay is relating to my individual experience while working in the team with the concept handbook. Teamwork is not an easy task. It is more difficult than working as an individual. “A team is a small number of people with complementary abilities, committed to a common purpose, approach and performance objectives, for which they consider to commonly responsible” (Katzenbach & Smith, 1992) When we first heard about the group assignment, the first and the most important decision that we had to make was choosing a group in order to work with. The tutor helped us to make that decision since the whole class have not had a clear idea of choosing a group. We simply followed him. Followership refers to a role held by certain individuals in an organization, team, or group. Specifically, it is the capacity of an individual to actively follow a leader. (Chaleff & Lipman 2008). …show more content…
. So in the start we had a poor communication among the group members since we were not friends and we were not comfortable with each other. Working as a team is about cooperating as one group toward a common achievement. Every team member has a huge responsibility for being on success. A responsibly is an obligation to perform assigned duties. (Robbins, DeCenzo, Coulter, Woods, p. 133) Indeed, even little changes can deliver drastically better or worst results. For that we have to keep a good communication with each other. After we selected “Leading” as our topic we have created a Facebook group to communicate with each

Through this group assignment, I really learned much. First, I realize that I should learn more about finance and accounting .when talking about the last part in presentation during discussion, I cannot participate in the debate, and even do not know what they said when comes some proper nouns. Although my major is logistics, it is good for me to learn more about other subject knowledge such as finance and management. Second is although we had discussion many times, we were inefficient and wasted much time. We supposed to have a target or task for each discussion, and leader need to coordinate the meeting. In addition, democracy does not work every time in small group, everyone has a different idea and wants to persuade others, which is the reason that a good leader is very important for a team, so that I should start to train leadership skills. Third is that unity and cooperation are essential to a good team. Team members need to work for…

By being an effective leader, one can use effective leadership skills to implement. Such skills such as promoting cohesion is one criteria needed in this scenario. I can incorporate cohesion by showing respect to other team members, and allow everyone to be active listeners. By showing respect to one another in a team, the members can reach the unaccomplished goal set. There are different personalities and diversities in a group, but as long as you can work together despite the diversities, attitude, behaviors, competition, the goal can be completed effectively. I enjoyed the team collaboration this week. I have so much from the videos and the team input and discussion. Effective communication is needed in all areas of teams. I know that working in team can be challenging, but always remember to put your best foot forward, and keep on moving towards the goal. Sometimes, teams may not perform in adequate time but be persistent and ask if you can be of any assistance in helping other team members. Unless, there is a leader assigned, there is not an “I” in teamwork. Working the team this week was productive and I have communication was open and to the point. Everyone discussed and posted about the scenarios on both videos as…

My first objective in leading the team to achieve success and run like a will oiled machine would be to decide what needs to be done and order to accomplish the tasks in. Next I would devise a plan of action to lead the team in a particular direction based on objectives established by superiors. Policies would be established or enforced to help the group stay on target. Continually plan ahead focusing on all possible scenarios, aspects, and possible crises to help be prepared and revise and adjust plans as necessary. The revision of my plans would enable me to enact a change of action, by selecting alternative solutions to the problems as they arise.…

There was conflict when group members did not show up at group members ans we felt that not everybody was contributing to their best abilities. One group member did not even bother to have a text book and I as a leader made sure she got a copy of the case. It was in the group’s best interest that she be given a copy. Then we met for the first time not everybody had read the case and it was apparent and frustrating. Then we were rushed for time and we met the professor and only two out of five could meet the professor. Then we cracked the case and not all members were present at every meeting. It was hard to work as a team. Then I decided to host two meetings at home and the last one brought us closer together since we shared some snacks and personal…

I guess for me I am struggling with how to forecast and predict what is important enough to know what criteria is relevant information to use for the success of my organization. Since I only work in one area of the whole organization how do you predict when you are not privy to important information to know what direction to go in. I am hoping to learn how to think way outside the box and be able to see the bigger picture. One question I do have though will the company be as successful if I only concentrate on the success of the area I work in? I get how strategic management can be beneficial to an organization, and I get how ethics should play a role as well. I see the way people have done wrong actions in a company is almost like having cancer in your organization. It can slowly take over or be swift and destroy a organization. I see both issues in my work place. People riding the cuff of what is wrong behavior and out right breaking the rules. All of that behavior disrupts the goal of the organization to run effectively and efficiently. Looking forward to further discussions.…

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to participate in Kairos XI through Fairfield’s Campus Ministry. The experience proved to be very interesting, packed with all different sorts of emotions. For me, the retreat was initially a bit awkward because I was one of the only seniors and I did not know many of the other students. However, I soon overcame this issue and by the end of the trip I had made many new friends. The retreat has been planned out since December, which shows how much time the team leaders put into making the Kairos experience truly meaningful for all of its participants. The weekend getaway was just what I needed to take some time and reflect about my life and what direction I wanted to head in. It also helped me to realize that God has not had much presence in my life lately, a problem I need to resolve.…
