The Barbarian's Last Words
She had intended on finishing off the whole lot of them. However, the barbarian's last words changed her course of action.

"May you forever rot in this world, you evil witch!" The words replayed incessantly, tormenting her with brief visions of the past.

Alemdha sorely regretted her lag in momentum. Although she relished the beguilement felt when toying with the fear of her victims, it was foolish of her to allow the situation to evolve. For now, she was currently suffering from the ramification of her indiscretion. And what an agonizing dilemma it was!

Showing not a single hint of discomfort on the surface, Alemdha took a right, and journeyed deeper into the sinister sector of the forest. Here, even the broad, hefty trees bore a breeze

Never were they exposed to the pleasant rays of the sun. Or experienced any other conditions for that matter, considering the absence of rainfall, hail, snow etc. Simply put, all the inhabitants, whether it be plants or animals, were all wild.

Halting at the tree, where the heart of the forest was presumed to be, Alemdha placed a single hand on the rough bark. At the contact, the bark smoothed, and began to mold itself into a figure that heavily resembled a door.

"Yes?" Lucius raised his head, revealing his crimson red irises which clashed with his fair complexion.

Alemdha observed him for a few seconds, with a thoughtful expression, until she finally replied, "First, fix yourself. We have much to discuss."

"Did she say anything?" Lucius quickly inquired.

"Let me repeat. I need you to fix yourself, then we can discuss what needs to be done. I will not speak with someone who has blood flowing from his nose. Or has a rat inhabiting his hair," Alemdha responded. "I do require a certain level of professionalism."

"I do not have a rat inhabiting my hair," he defended himself. However, his claim was quickly challenged by the flurry of movement on his tangled, thick dark hair, followed by the sight of a small furry nose.

"Ratty is not a rat," Lucius quickly added.

"Ratty?" Alemdha questioned, with a small curve of her lips.

"No, don't answer that. Just do what I told you to do. We have much to discuss. For I have heard rumors of," her tone fell a few octaves, with not a single hint of the former smile, "harnessing the power of
