Current Online Competitor Assessment: If one looked for “frozen yogurt” in Issaquah, WA, you would find as the top choice “Yum-e Yogurt”. This local family owned and operated establishment can be considered a direct competitor and is geographically less than a mile away. Yum-e Yogurt is both a coffee house and frozen yogurt restaurant all in one, founded in 2012 when the first store opened in Maple Valley, WA. The Yum-e Yogurt location in Issaquah that is barely two months old is just the second Yum-e Yogurt store of this entrepreneurial frozen yogurt restaurant chain. Their website is simple and easy to navigate. They emphasize in a big way their core family beliefs in their mission statement as well as pride in the quality of the coffee, frozen yogurt and smoothies that they offer in their store (Yum-e Yogurt, n.d.). They have links directly from their webpage to their social media content on Facebook and Twitter where they have a comparatively larger following than our U-Swirl store. They have 4.5 stars out of 5 stars rating from an average of 16 customer reviews on Yelp (http://www.yelp.com/biz/yum-e-yogurt-issaquah). They however do not have a setup for a loyalty program to serve as an incentive for repeat customers and do not have the option to purchase anything from their website. They also do not appear to have any kind of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) component online that could further enhance their business relationship with their loyal…

Yoplait should aim their commercial towards being healthy for you and being the tastier choice as well verses just being healthier and a way to lose weight. That way they can appeal towards more than the people who want to lose a few extra pounds. Then their profit can increase to become a bigger producer. Unfortunately in the past Yoplait has not been doing so well according to this article. “The new yogurt is likely to get a significant ad push, including TV, as General Mills looks to make up ground in the Greek segment. The change marks the third time General Mills has changed its Greek variety since entering the segment in early 2010. A spokeswoman characterized the latest effort as a new product with new packaging and a new message, contrasting it with previous changes, which she said were "more about improving or enhancing the existing product." The marketer 's stumbles in Greek have hurt the overall Yoplait brand, which was recently surpassed by Dannon as the total yogurt market leader. In Greek, both of the yogurt giants have been playing catch-up to Chobani, which got an early start in the segment in 2007. General Mills ' U.S. Yoplait division had a net sales decline of 5%…

When walking into Orange Leaf, the bright orange, green, and white décor invite you in. Then, an undeniably sweet scent allures one into assuming their product will consist of top quality and deliciousness. However, when examined closely, the truth reveals itself. With 16 flavors to choose from, pinning down the flavor most desired stands easier said than done. Though almost always in this store, a machine stands broken or a sticky mess, forcing the consumer to decide against that particular flavor. Besides that, Orange Leaf remains one of the only frozen yogurt companies that actually makes their yogurt in the store. By mixing milk, powdered yogurt, and an artificial flavoring, “frozen yogurt” has been conceived. Typically, froyo shops order their yogurt made in a factory with regulations and comes in gallon jugs. When yogurt actually comes from the store made by the employees, ensuring consistency and quality one hundred percent of the time remains impossible. The toppings in Orange Leaf do not measure up to par either. Although kept refrigerated, the fruit often looks slimy and possesses a mushy texture as if it has been sitting out. Cross contamination has also become a present issue with many of the toppings. With nuts as one of the topping options, cross contamination can pose a major health hazard.…

Given the hype surrounding Red Mango and the inevitable calls for the company to capitalize on the fast-moving frozen yogurt trend, Red Mango has been fairly cautious in expanding. The company reportedly rejected over 3,000 potential franchisees and accepted only 12. Some speculate the company may try to become the "Starbucks of soft-serve," ignoring short-term considerations and using the venture capital and retail acumen of Howard Schultz and Dan Levitan to conquer important urban markets step-by-step and build long-term brand value – just as Starbucks has done over the last 25 years.…
