The Cause Of Suicide In The United States
It was a rainy day and it smelt like fresh cut grass that has been watered. It was just a normal day at East Town Middle School, the birds chirping and the kids laughing and playing. Then there was a boy named Ryan, he is 13 years old and has a speech problem and slow learning abilities, so he was in a special ed class from pre-k to 4th grade. He fastly discovered quickly that he was still not academically strong, and as he headed into middle school it bothered him deeply. When he was in 5th grade one of the kid found out about his learning disability and began to bully him at school. Ryan was only being verbally bullied so the teachers and staff advised him to not make a reaction and to walk away. In December of 2002 the harassment problem …show more content…
As you can see in the story above it was both of those things that drove Ryan to suicide. These are some of the percentages of how people have killed themselves in this past year. On average there are 117 suicides per day in the United States only and just think about that world wide… But every year there are 42,773 suicides in the United States, also for every one of those suicides there are 25 attempts before it happened. We need to try and stop all of theses suicides in the U.S because they cost the United States $44 billion annually, and that is hurting the US very badly. It is hurting us because,we are losing money very rapidly. In the state of Arkansas our suicide rates are about 500,000 people over the suicide rates in the United …show more content…
She has attempted it over a dozen times and they all have been overdoses but that did not work for her. She had a few friends and she went out with one to the movies that night, and after the movies she went to the friend's house to hang out. Well later on she wanted to go home for the night, so the friend took her home and from there it got bad. When she got home she put post-it notes on everything with family members names on them. They got a phone call from someone about an hour later and they heard a gunshot, so we rushed over there as fast as they could and while doing so the mom was on the phone with 911. When they got there she had shot herself… She still had a pulse, they had to take her to the hospital. They got her on life support but that was not helping. But if that did help she was brain dead from the bullet. So later that evening she died. She left a note that was very bad and ugly, it made the boy's uncle sound like it was his fault, but he did nothing to her. When we went to see her she was always nice and cared for us but just that week she turned on us. But last year we did not celebrate christmas or thanksgiving where we usually do bc of her death and that was the first year she would not be there of course. But we now do everything just like it was again and we only did that for the

    Children’s lives are changed by bullies every year all over the world, especially for Jamie Nabozny, a student in Ashland, Wisconsin. He was homosexual from a young age and constantly got bullied because of it. Every day at school, he would be bullied verbally and physically. After one ruthless attack, he was hospitalized and had surgery. He had been studying when one of the bullies walked up to him, kicked the books out of his hand, and kept on kicking him.
