The overlapping of the houses gives me a sense of depth and makes me curious as to what may be behind each house or structure that Mr. Hambuch painted. The different sizes of the objects in the painting sit perfectly with this type of view. Also the atmospheric perspective is very intriguing as it seems that the area of the farm in the background is still be built up. I like how the the artist used balance in his painting. When viewing this painting I see housing stuctures stacked on one side and on the right side going up the painting there are a few trees with a lot of open land which balance out the painting in my eyes.…
Just a little bit off from the middle of the painting there is a structure not unlike Stone Hedge in England on top of a hill. Below it there is a river with small sailing ships going around, and on the bank there is a village filled with lots of wooden structures and even further left you can see a man using oxen to plow a field. On the other side of the painting you can see another section of the river where a larger sailing ship is being constructed on its…
This piece of art was created by Claude Monet. He is known as the classic impressionist. In this painting, he captures the ever-changing nature of light and color. Unlike a lot of paintings, you can see the brush strokes in this painting. But I believe that the brush strokes used help create the piece of art and they help show the leaves and flowers on the trees. Also, it helps make the clouds in the sky look more hazy and beautiful.…
I believe the bright colors are making a statement to emphasize on the major parts of the artwork. Showing the motion, makes you move your eyes along the imaginary wave. The slight tone of yellow makes me think of the sun come through the wave. The soft light of the off white background makes me think of a light blue sky that is clear of everything. Vague colors made me stare at the picture for long periods of time so that way I could understand why he created this on in particular. I thought maybe like times when he got bored and went to the museum; he created a scene of his bus ride there. Maybe he pictures himself at a beach and what it would be like to sit and watch someone ride a…
The art piece is representational, the lines are sharp and there are various and different shapes. The texture is smooth and there has been more than one colour that has been used in the painting. The tone shows that the sun is on him even though there is no sun shown in the portrait. Space and depth has been used as you can tell the objects are further away and the ones that are closer up and in detail.…
The lines in this work of art are of a large variety. On the right side of the painting a lot of the objects are horizontal. The woman though is sitting up vertically, along with the flame. There are a few diagonal lines also, for example; the position of the woman’s head, one of her legs, and her arm resting on the skull. Everything in this painting is realistic and the shapes are organic. The texture in this painting is two-dimensional. Almost all of the objects seem to be smooth, for example; the books, the wall, the table, the woman’s skin and dress, and so on. Warm colors are used in this painting. The value in this shows the lightest point being the center and from that going outward, it gets darker.…
They look like rectangles or squares, depending on the size, and have a half circle on top, an arch. In this piece of artwork the colors are what attracted my attention. There are bright, dark, warm, cool, and muted colors mixed in. The bright colors in this piece of artwork almost show a light shining down on them. In the painting it shows that it is a nice day with a couple clouds in the sky.…
I'd say View of Collioure is like a classic plein air oil painting done in a different way. The colors are not realistic at all. They are much more vibrant and warm ---- the mountain in the background is straightforwardly pink with some strange green patches, the foreground is red, the walls of the houses are of various red and pink, the roofs are golden and red-orange, and the sea is too blue. It was painted very loosely. The brush strokes are evident and scattered. They were applied spontaneously and freely, almost like a crayon drawing. The artist didn't care to cover the whole surface of the canvas. Strokes, lines, and blocks of colors are often not adjacent right to each other, and the canvas shows through. However, the perspective is correct and creates a realistic depth of space. We can see very well that first there is the red foreground, then houses and wharves by the shore, then mountains across the water recede into the background. Matisse also put a short fat blue line in the upper right corner aside the distant mountain to indicate horizon line. Despite the strong and nonrepresentational colors, the rough brush strokes, the lack of details and light and shadow, the viewer can still get a pretty good sense that this image is about a real place. Maybe this painting was even done on site. I can imagine fishermen---or whoever---- living in the houses depicted in the painting. The bright warm colors make the image pleasant and inviting. It is a place you'd like to visit.…
This one seems to fit in with the other art creations at the Jen library though, because around it the other works of art are almost the same in size, this helps give you an idea at how very large this other piece is. Unlike the first piece, this one has a wood base that is left unpainted or stained. Then close to the bottom left corner it has wood planks with white plaster on them all laid pointing outwards from a circle in the center, it reminds one very much of a giant daisy without a yellow center, unlike the top one you get a happy feeling because of this bright beautiful flower. The planks however are torn at the end, and this beautiful daisy starts to look more battered and worn down, it’s kind of sad. Placed above the hole where the yellow pollen of a flower should lay is three rows of five blocks. All of the blocks are made of foam and painted a bright pink, and they are all lined up in straight rows and are uniform, except for one at the bottom left, that one is slightly tilted. In the end I loved how this looked, and when going deeper into the meaning you can really see why this connects so well with the other darker art…
I think this piece of work is more about interaction compared to the first piece, this is because different shapes filled with colours have been added in awkward positions, on the right hand side you can see a vertical thin rectangular shape which looks like it is filled with grass, this may be trying to create a see through effect to show the outside environment, also on the left hand side you can see a white vertical rectangular shape which happens to expand towards the ground, along with the grass I think this may be trying to create a sense of nature in the environment. You can see the walls are made up of bricks so this image could be inside a basement. In the center there is a rectangle shape which is positioned diagonally, it has the colour red on one side then it goes opaque. Again, I think this work is concerned primarily with visual communication…
In the painting, Keith Rocco uses immense details to guide that they’re trying to enumerate on to their village/town. To demonstrate, there are bountiful houses in the top left corner that are being built but used at the same time. That is because in that town they don’t have many houses so they all have to depend on their shelter. They all need to depend on that because their food and water is in their house. We can infer that Keith’s painting really shows everyone's lives there. It describes how they lived and how if they were alive now they would be in an entirely new world. In conclusion, the painting Keith made shows all different types of things but it really sends a message distinguishing their lives then and how they had to…
In this composition, we can see Cézannes painting technique is clearly recognisable, as it is different from many other artists, his work is characterised by his brush strokes; these can sometimes be repetitive , sensitive or exploratory depending on what Cezanne is painting. He uses a blocky form which gives the piece uniqueness and shows his signature style. The simple, natural colours show his emotions as being quite depressed and sad at this period of time. He uses a couple of shades of each colour and then builds on top.…
I believe this painting shows a loss of identity. This is the reason I chose this as my favorite piece of art, because I can relate to it. There came a time in my life where I was struggling with my own identity. In today's world it is very significant to identify oneself with at least one thing (ones ethnicity, nationality, race, religion, or a particular belief). Many people still grapple with the notion of identity in many countries, regions, and various ways in order to fit or adapt into any environment (social, economic, cultural, political, etc). One’s identity determines ones position or situation in society wherever one lives. However, finding the right type of…
The dot is focused on main character who is Htay’s face and the background is shaped as dark lack of positive sense. The lines that appears in the picture is the frame of the photos of her children. These arts are kept pretty good which is strengthen the lines in the picture. We can see that the thing which is held on the wall not only include the arts, but also with her family picture and handmade work showed on the wall. The shape gives us direct negative and unpleasant sense because it is extremely dark. However, the only a little bit light shoot on Htay’s face. It’s like full of hope and be positive to see tomorrow will be better. Also, the hair is one sample of lines in the picture. Messy lines, messy hair, distribute the over the head and looks like several days did not wash the hair may be lack of water. And washing hair is kind of luxury. Through the little bit of light, the eyes are trying to cry, but she did not cry out. Her personality is insisted and never lose hope. To be positive to achieve new day like the sunshine everyday shoot on the face. For my view, once I saw the picture, it is mood. When I was young, I did not get or live in any trouble. The great environment is prepared well by my parents. They paid the tuition for me and I get good education in the United States. However, Htay is totally different with me. She got married early and cultivate several offspring till they be mature is tough. How we can image tons…
