One of the fundamental bases of a person’s lifestyle and lifespan lies upon the education he/she received starting from early age. Education, especially in younger age, influences a big part of a person’s overall life. A person with a handful of good education has wise knowledge is more likely to live a decent life. Good physical education promotes academic learning, develops sportsmanship, and helps prevent disease among children.
A healthy physical health enables students to perform well in class. Based on a research from Swedish researchers, studies have shown that children who received more physical education carried out higher grades compared to those who did not. According to HealthDay, 96 percent of students with more physical education achieved grades that made the eligible to advance to upper-secondary school, compared to those with normal physical education. (HealthDay, 2012) The answer to better function of students in school is due to how physical activities students engaged in affects the cardiovascular system. Regular exercise stimulates oxygen circulation and healthy blood cells, which allows the cardiovascular system to function efficiently. This results more nutrients to circulate, as BCSD have said, and produces longer attention span. (BCSD, 2009) Children with regular exercise tend to do well in school due to the development to the cardiovascular system.
In sports, children learn that life consists of both parts: winning and losing. Physical education allows children to accept loses and value victory. Children in the same team share the same goal to win, which encourages teamwork and learn to co-operate with his/her teammates. By working as a team, from Charlotte Kelso, children socialize with others as well as learn and exchange positive skills with each other. (Kelso, nd.) Competitive skills are also being developed while students fight along with their team against the opposing team
