The Fill In Boyfriend By Kasie West: Chapter Summary
I finished the book The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West with 343 pages. This book is about a girl, Gia, who gets dumped at prom, before her and Bradley even entered the school. A boy, at the time she does not recognise, stays behind making sure everything is alright after he saw them fighting. Gia and the boy go to prom together; the boy pretends to be Bradley since Gia’s friends have never met Bradley. Gia and the fill-in boyfriend begin to gather feelings for one another; however, he never mentions his name and they continue the white lie that he is Bradley. In this paper, I will be connecting and evaluating.

Some reasons to believe she was too scared to tell her friends about the tiny white lie would be that she wanted her friend’s trust and also she was scared of Jules. “I sighed. This was pathetic. The truth. I needed to tell the truth. He broke up with me in the parking lot. My eyes stung with tears over that thought.Bradley broke up with me in the parking lot. I’d screwed up and lost him and now I might lose just more than him. Would this be the final piece of evidence my friends needed to believe the claims Jules had made? I knew the look I’d get from Jules right away when I told the truth. It would be the yeah-right-he-doesn’t-exist look” (West, 9).
