The Hote Paris
Hotel Paris wants to expand its chain to include more global locations. Currently the popular hotel chain has nine locations that span across France, London, Rome, and major cities in the United States, including Chicago, New York, Miami, Washington, and Los Angeles. The popular hotel chain has been able to grow since its 1990 inception in a small Paris suburb because of its wonderful reputation of great customer service. The management of the hotel chain believes that this is what will allow them to continue expanding globally, but their reputation for such service has been deteriorating. Now management has to figure out exactly what is causing the deterioration. Employee competencies and behaviors are what help any organization achieve their strategic goals. Management needs to ask the following questions of itself: 1) are employees simply being lax and not providing the customer service that Hotel Paris has been so well known for?; 2) is management providing the necessary tools, both figuratively and literally, to its employees in order to deliver the best service to guests?; 4) are the goals of the company in synch with the values of the employees?; 5) do the employees of the hotel feel valued and appreciated?; 6) are the objectives of the hotel properly planned and realistic?; and 7) has management properly communicated with its employees what its mission statement and vision are? These are all
