The major issue that colleges face is the use of overeating and becoming medically Obese from the Body Mass Index (BMI).
This system is used to measure your projected weight and height into a selected number and determines the category you fall in. Within the first year of college, many of the college freshman women are overeating due to lack of portioning and daily intake. When freshman college students arrive they take note of the various options for food that is given to them. The moment they walk up the service is a buffet style eatery. In simple term, you have the capability of eating as much you like and as often are your meal plan allows. From the array of foods, the portioned foods are the healthier options, although the junk foods such as pizza and desserts are placed in your
choice.
As a proposed solution the foods in the cafeterias should be portioned as a whole and give women and understand why too much of one food group can do to your body. The school should also take the time to inform women of the items that go in your body. Many of the junk foods that we eat today are so processed that is take hours just to have is digested through the body. By showing the visualization of what can occur they can see what foods harm and help them. They will also know the proper guide to reading a label and maintain and lose weight within their college degree. To gain a clear emphasis on the impact of nutrition, the forms of diabetes that can occur as a repercussion, and actions to solve the solution over a subjective time. I have viewed valid studies on young college adults to study the relationship between Lack of nutrition and Obesity through the BMI scale.
