The Importance Of Communication Problems In Communication
In another question I asked the interviewees about the steps which they take to overcome the communication problems. (question3). I did expect very diverse answers, because it is highly individual how people solve the problems in general. I expected that the solutions will diverse by the age too. As the subject are leading personalities I assume that they will have efficient way how to solve the problems. Hassan talked me about the importance of developing his communication skills. He mentioned that it was not always easy for him to communicate with people as efficient as he wanted, especially in the beginning of his career in London as foreigner from Pakistan. All three participants are presenting different culture. I have realized that even people from different parts of the world may have the same concerns and problems in communication. What is important, that every person who I asked showed the interest in solving these problems. The solutions may vary, but all subjects explained to me that for efficient communications you have to forget the stereotypes about the other cultures. I realized that is not such a important what a content of message will be, but the way how it will be send and received. What I have learned from interviews and I find as most important is to show tolerance and acceptance to every culture. When people feels you treat them well, they will be willing to cooperate more and you will be able to create better relationships. Even I know the participant well, sometimes I was surprised by their answers. It clearly shows that people should be careful about their expectations from other cultures, because they might get disappointed.
In the end, I can say communication with diverse individuals is challenging and need a lot of practice. For me it is important to be respectful and tolerant. Participants confirmed mine beliefs that being clear and specific is crucial in communications with every culture. When I was thinking about the self-improvement I have found few issues which needs to be solved. Being more empathic and tolerant are my new goals which are based on this study.
