I myself am blessed to not have drastic problems or obstacles in my life, just little petty ones. I am the youngest of eight siblings and I guess my childhood was a little different from some people’s. It included cramming two bunk beds in our small upstairs bedroom, and I cannot say that I recall even one of those walls bare of a dresser or bed. I wore the clothes passed down the line from my sisters and the coolest electronic we had was my brother’s old Game Boy my sisters and I would occasionally find in a drawer and loose two weeks later. Life was probably tough for my mom and dad those days, but they gave us unconditional love and sucked it up. We were never really “well off” and is was pretty tough when my dad lost his job. Fifth grade volleyball and basketball were simple. Everyone was usually equally good, but by sixth grade I realized some of my teammates were getting better. It was because most of my teammates did out of school teams too. Of course I could never be in an out of school team because they cost a lot of money. It always frustrated me because I always felt I did not contribute enough for my team. By my eighth grade year, I was, besides only two other people, the only one who was not in a team like Impact or MVA.
