The Knife Of Never Letting Go Book Report
While walking in the swamp near the old Spackle settlement, Todd finds a hole in the Noise which he has never experienced before. He returns home to ask Ben and Cillian about the hole. Ben and Cillian tell Todd that he is in danger because his Noise has alerted the town of the hole he found in the swamp. They give Todd a satchel they had already packed and tell him to leave Prentisstown without a reason. While leaving, Todd encounters the hole in the Noise and discovers that it is a girl. He is surprised that he has found a girl as there should be none alive to his knowledge. He then also realizes she has no Noise which he does not understand. Aaron comes after both Todd and the girl in the swamp, not wanted them to leave, but they are able …show more content…
The fact that Todd refuses to commit the single act that will transition him into adulthood is why the army from Prentisstown comes after him and is what drives Aaron to continue living against all odds to provoke Todd’s unstable rage.
Ⅵ. Connections to the Text
I can connect the text to a historical event due to the similarities between the Pilgrims who voyaged from England to the New World and the original settlers of New World who had come from Old World in the book. In The Knife of Never Letting Go it is described that the original people from Old World had come to New World in search of religious freedom because they were unable to obtain it on Old World. This is extremely similar to the Pilgrims who voyaged from England to the New World in search of religious freedom because they believed the Church of England had strayed beyond Christian teachings.
Ⅶ. Personal Response
This book has an incredible story and I found myself incredibly encapsulated by the story. The story is described so vividly that I can easily imagine the events and images written. The end of the book is such a great cliffhanger that I find myself wanted to read the second book right away. Overall, this book has become one of my favorites and I am eager to complete the

I would not recommend this book to many people. It is confusing and not very interesting. The book itself was okay, but in my opinion, it had more potential, so it seemed not as good as I expected. Also, the ending was the worst part of all. The storyline was good, but I expected more out of the ending, and it was not there. If anyone were to like this book, it would be people who are curious about the afterlife, because the author made up a different perspective of the afterlife for people to read.…
