“Most: Dr. Merrill stated writing is thinking. When you put things down on paper, it should talk to you.”
I truly enjoyed meeting Dr. Merrill, and just listening to him talk. He really was willing to share his faith and how family is very important to him. I had asked him what conversations that he has with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren about life. He shared with me how not everyone was accepting of his new wife, but that didn’t stop him from moving forward in life. He has a wealth of knowledge and is a great story teller. He also shared how he got great ideas while doodling. He also said that as a practitioner that we must come up with ideas and write them down and get them published.

Even though technology will continue to change, it seems that instructional designers try to stay ahead of the learning curve to ensure that they provide tools and techniques for learners. What was something you do not agree with in the session?
“Not agree: Not all of the presenters were on their A game.”
Some of the presentations were crappy, not because of content, but because of delivery and in some cases too much information. It seems like the presenters professors didn’t prepare them appropriately. I look at how Dr. Curry and Dr. Justice do not allow us to have a lot of fluff in our work and it allows you to ensure you state what you mean in as few words.
