Muslim immigration to America has been occurring for decades, and is not a new thing. However, throughout history the U.S. government has had trouble creating a sensible Muslim immigration policy. Currently, president Trump—a man with bold and controversial policies--has enforced a temporary ban on Muslims until the American government can create a valid immigration policy. American people are in turmoil while deciding whether or not they should allow the U.S. government to put restrictions on Muslim Immigration. Some Americans are concerned that Muslim immigration will jeopardize America's security, while others feel it is America's duty to be compassionate and welcome immigrants.…

Second, President Trump excuses much of the legality of his executive order by saying that it’s a national security; though it is a fear tactic that he has used throughout his presidency, a few Google searches will confirm that there is not a national security risk. After the attacks on September 11, there were many freedoms restricted for a period while the nation worked on increasing national security and diminishing risks. The terrorist attacks instilled fear towards the entire Muslim community and much of the middle east (Kennedy); however, the nations listed on Trump’s immigration ban are not even the same nations that the terrorists behind the September 11 attacks. After the executive order was signed, a news agency from Iran wrote that…

If you were born in a poor country and you could barely survive, what would you do? If you heard that there are opportunities for a better life in more advanced countries, would you try your luck there in an attempt to provide a better life for your family? Although the reasons that brought all the immigrants to the Unites States may vary, a typical case is that in which an individual is born in a family with limited resources and he comes to the U.S. with hopes of having a better life. Just recently, Trump signed a new executive order banning immigrants from six Muslim majority countries. In the new order, Iraq is not included because they agreed to share more information with the United States. In the new order, there is explicit language that allows green card holders re-entry into the United States. The new order does not indefinitely ban Syrian refugees “and called for prioritizing the admission of refugees who are religion minorities in their home countries” (CNN), prioritizing Christian over Muslim refugees. In an attempt to gain support for the new travel ban, it states that the FBI has reported “that approximately 300 … refugees are currently the subjects of counter-terrorism investigations” (CNN). The order lasts for 90 days, starting March 16. As of now, multiple states have joined together to challenge the order in court and one judge has already struck the ban down regarding a Syrian family trying to find refuge in Wisconsin. The order has not yet taken effect but already seems to be on a path towards…

Thousands of people flooded the airports in protest, and the courts quickly stepped in to block the ban, starting with a case filed by the ACLU.…

As President, Donald Trump plans to enact an Immigration Ban that would affect people from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. People from these predominantly Muslim nations are prohibited from entering the United States. Trump claims the ban is to eliminate foreign terrorism in America and keep residents safe. Currently, there is a freeze on the ninety-day ban Trump temporarily put on the entry of people from the seven countries and the one hundred and twenty-day ban on all refugees. Ultimately, the decision of whether this executive order passes is up to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.…
