The Quarrel Between The Capulets In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet
In the story of Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, the tragedy of the double suicide by the two star crossed lovers, is the result of the family quarrel between the Montagues and the Capulets. Shakespeare doesn't tell us how the fight between the two families starts and leaves it to our imaginations, but we can infer that the quarrel has been going on for many generations. In the story, Shakespeare explores the hate between the families and how Romeo and Juliet's love is oppressed by the adults. The adults should have been more supportive of Romeo and Juliet and showed their love for them no matter what. The adults of the Montages and the Capulets had an important role in the quarrel between the houses, and end up hating their parents

This argument was started by the adults and has ended up being passed down to the children, to hate the opposing house. This leads people from the two house to believe that they are better than the others and makes them boastful about their family and belittle the people that they should befriend. Shakespeare also introduces us to the character of Friar Lawrence when Romeo and Juliet decide to get married. The Friar believes that the two children have found true love and believes that they should get married. But before they get married he say “These violent delights have violent ends/And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,/Which as they kiss consume: the sweetest honey/Is loathsome in his own deliciousness/And in the taste confounds the appetite:/Therefore love moderately; long love doth so;/Too swift arrives as tardy as too slow.” (2.6.9-15) Even before they get married he knows that this love won't last and will have a violent end. If Friar Lawrence would have not married Romeo and Juliet there probably wouldn't have been the double suicide which shows that the adults had an important part of this conflict. Overall the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet was avoidable, and if the adults could have acted more like adults, Romeo and Juliet would have survived. This story's theme is even relatable to life today, where people need to tolerate others and respect each other
