Secondly, education has a big role in the American Dream.
For example you will not be able to get very far in life without the proper education. Education helps one develop new interest in life that may be entertaining or allow one to enter a new occupation. Attending college or a university helps one perform the day to day tasks of life more effectively, like locating the right doctor, searching for a good investment, or finding a good paying job. Yet, Fitzgerald displays Gatsby as being educated on money and the people who have it. The author says “He was left with his singularly appropriate education (101).” However, education is well needed to achieve your American Dream to get far in life, but nevertheless love comes with education and wealth bring you beautiful women and
men. Lastly, love is a symbol of the American Dream. Love is an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment. Love can also have a person living a lie, says Mr. Augustus. Often love is mistaken to be one of the best things life can offer. Similarly, Fitzgerald portrays Gatsby as living a lie. He says he met Daisy and fell in love with her. he pretended to be able to take care of her, the authors says “Gatsby made Daisy believe that he was a person from much the same stratum as herself, that he was fully able to take care of her (149).” It is love that corrupts Gatsby life. In order to obtain love, he has to obtain money from unknown places and pretend to be someone his is not. In conclusion, despite the differences among the three ideas that is a part of the American Dream.
