Being Overweight is not always your fault
In America, approximately 70% of adults are either obese or overweight. Not all of the people in the percentile are overweight or obese due to not caring about their body. Some people can be overweight due to the fact that they are genetically predisposed to overeating.
“Some people may have a higher risk of obesity because they are genetically predisposed to overeat or lead a sedentary lifestyle” (“Some People”). However, not only can some people be genetically predisposed to overeat, but most Americans have a different mindset in their eating choices. Most of them think that just because a yogurt has a little bit of calories, it is automatically a healthy snack. You can’t judge someone because they are overweight or obese because you don’t know what their reasons are and you don’t know what they are going through. There are a myriad of reasons as to why people are obese and overweight in the United States. Few people in America find it difficult to turn down a little piece of bread or a piece of chocolate when they are not hungry. Honestly it is pretty difficult for me. “The differences could explain why some people find it much harder than others to turn food down when they are not hungry or motivate themselves to exercise” (“Some people”). Remember that not everyone thinks the same and we all have different mindsets when it comes to taking care of our bodies.
Not everyone can motivate themselves to exercise. For some people it is one of the hardest things to do. It is also very difficult for some people to say “no” to food. Some overweight and obese people are the way that they are not because they don’t understand how many calories are in a certain food, but because they
