After the sinkhole, Lake Windsor Middle School students got the choice to either learn in the gym for the time being or transferred to Tangerine Middle School. His choice can be harmless or harmful. Paul, took the opportunity to switch. But, the only way he got on Tangerine’s soccer team is because Paul’s mother, Mrs. Fisher got rid of the IEP form from his Cume Folder. Paul befriended the Tangerine Middle school teammates by joining the Tangerine Soccer team. This shows about his character by the way he “ratted” the Tangerine soccer players and then went to their school to play on their team. The consequences of this choice are that if the Tangerine soccer players figure out that it was Paul who ratted out the soccer players from the carnival…

On an early weekday morning after Christmas, many inches of new snow had fallen. Seven-year old Annie Dillard met the boys’ ages eight, nine, and ten in front of her house on Lloyd Street, where they had snow nearly to the top of their boots. The two oldest boys were Mikey and Peter Fahey who lived near Dillard on Llyod Street. The tough kid Chickie Mc Bride was there and Billy, Paul, and Mackie Kean too from across Reynolds Street were the boys grew up. The group of kids wandered around their neighborhood looking for action, when they had found it on Reynolds Street. It was a chilly day that wintery morning with clouds afloat in the sky. As the cars drove down Reynolds Street, you could hear them coming from afar, by the clanking of the chains on their tires. As the cars drove past, the chains on the tires left different grove patterns through the fresh snow. Dillard and the boys began making perfectly shaped…

Nobody would expect that Tino would even attempt standing up for himself against Erik, nor could they imagine how Paul “saved” Dino’s miraculous shot. But the odds approached and those events did happen in Tangerine. For those characters, they clarified possible instead of impossible, which lead people to think that Tangerine is a book of possibility. Tino always believed that he gets what he wants whenever he wants it, so if that meant for him to smack talk Erik, so be it. Paul figured it was practically impossible for someone to physically get up in Erik’s face the way Tino did, based off his reaction to the incident.…

There were many important characters in the book Tangerine. Five characters that I considered to be important are Paul Fisher, Joey Costello, Erik Fisher, Paul’s mom, and Paul’s dad. Paul Fisher is a 7th grader that has moved from Texas to Florida. He had coke-bottle cap glasses from some incident he can’t remember. He also plays goalie for soccer. Joey Costello is Paul’s new friend. Joey’s brother, Mike, had passed away earlier in the book, from getting struck by lightning while playing football. Joey also enjoys playing soccer. Erik Fisher is Paul’s older brother. He is a big-shot football player wherever he goes. Paul’s mom is part of the Homeowners Committee and likes to stick up for things she believes in. Last, but not least, is Paul’s dad. He liked to brag a lot about his son Eric, and is the new Director of Civil Engineering for Tangerine County.…

Imagine moving to Florida. The first thought that probably forms in your brain is the perfect place - palm trees and sunshine, and maybe even some tangerines. Well that is not how the main character, Paul Fisher, experiences it at all. The protagonist in the novel Tangerine by Edward Bloor has an entirely different experience. Whether it is the bad weather, his school, or his big-bad brother, he definitely isn’t living a paradise. This companion book jumps into Paul Fisher’s complicated life. In the first two chapters of the companion book, you analyze his first experiences in his new home where you can see his family and himself struggle and how they deal with certain situations which can tell the reader about their personality.…

Putting the mask over his face, Erik stared into the mirror. His one-sided conscience told him that destroying the property of families and friends is hilarious. “Let’s go!” Arthur, the sidekick begged to start vandalising. The two high school boys got into the black Jeep. Erik grabbed the brown bat. There were red streaks in the groves of the bat. Smashing the window, Erik began to hit the mailboxes. Arthur’s car engine roared, wanting destruction. The mailboxes cried. Brown, black, pink, orange, red, green, blue mailboxes flew. The innocent neighbors’ mail poured out the mailboxes. The newspaper, The Tangerine Times, had big letters across the top: Lake Windsor’s Quarterback Lives in Tangerine. Only thinking of himself, not allowing the town to see their record gone, Erik continued until there was nothing left. Destruction. Erik looked into the car mirror, unable to look at his own face. Having no heart, sneaking around town, and showing…
