Title: Camping. A creative writing piece about a family and friends camping trip. Th story is realistic and scenery is described throughout the story on every scene
It was a misty morning when we left our house, and as soon as we walked out of the door you could instantly smell the fresh dew on the grass. We were heading to Kelling Heath, which is located near Sheringham, Norfolk. I was so excited that I could hardly keep still for the whole car journey! It took us about an hour to get to the campsite but the journey went really quickly because we were playing games and observing the beautiful scenery around us.The sun was shining really strongly on our backs as we were setting up the newly purchased tent. Hours passed quickly and we had made some new friends who sent up camp next to us. They had a couple of children: Nicola who was 14yrs old and Matthew who was 9yrs old. This family had a massive old-fashioned style tent. It had little windows and curtains, and a door, which caused us a bit of trouble because the zip wouldn't undo straight away!As everyone was settling down, I was admiring the amazing scenery and atmosphere around us. As I was gazing up into the blue cloudless sky and smelling the clean fresh air when I spotted some birds, which were flying high above me, so I threw out some bread that was left over from an earlier snack. As soon as the bread had hit the floor, the birds had instantly spotted it and they flew down in a kaleidoscopic pattern and landed to feast upon a meal of dry bread.By now everyone had set up camp and we took a walk around the quiet and woody campsite. There was a nearby forest and it was so peaceful and quiet and you could hear some birds chirping away to each other. On the ground there were newly fallen pinecones, which covered the forest floor like a blanket. Apart from the birds you could hear nothing else apart from the golden leaves crunching under our feet. Our gentle stroll ended quickly and we headed back to the tents to have some lunch. We set up a little barbeque that was complete with a set of frying pans (for the eggs) and saucepans (for the beans). I helped my dad get food out

The trip was quite fun because the mountains we were by were smooth while being very massive in size. The day was sunny at start but sooned became cloudy and grey I was worried that it would rain and we would have to cancel but that wasn’t the case. When we approached the lake it was massive very massive with little waves right behind each other while the smell of the open and the lake were all around me. The lake was beautiful while fish were jumping out into the air and splashed right back into the diamond lake. When I saw this I became so excited and was filled with joy. It was cloudy and breezy but the air around us was warm and soothing like being right by a fire on a breezy day. I quickly setup the equipment and grabbed my fishing rod, acquired the bait and started to fish. While I was fishing my Nina and her husband set up right by the edge of the ramp and me and my sister were set up on the side. The dog was right at the edge and about to fall of the ramp but he just stood there staring into the endless darkness of the lake. As i was enjoying the air I felt a tug on my rod and instantly knew There was a fish at the end, I instantly started to reel in my line a was struggling just a bit, the fish was also struggling and it was determined by who had the most stamina. I reeled in my line and there was a mid to large sized fished on the line and I felt proud that I caught my first fish of the day. After a hour I caught 4 fish and felt proud of myself for actually staying a whole day outside and having fun. We decided to head to the house when it started to rain. When we arrived at the house it was already turning night so we headed in but before we did that my Nina showed me how to gut a fish, even though it was disgusting it was informational. After that the rest of the stay was very relaxing and pleasent and was glad to travel there for half of the…

As she walking to class, something caught her attention, the shore outside. She went outside, they were allowed to go outside without permission. She walked outside and she could feel the breeze going towards her and she could feel the warmness of the sun reflecting on top of her head. She saw how the waves were moving in a steady motion and it splashing on top of the soft sand. She could hear the palm trees moving gently.…

The mountains were stone dark, secured with trees whose hues were a blend of woodsy cocoa, knoll, key lime, and margarita green. Scattered powder-puff mists gradually fled over the sky and the sun feed like a bolt. Seeing this made me feel like I inadvertently touched base to paradise. I breath gradually, attempting to recall each snapshot of me being encompassed by woodland, sky, and mountains. We began climbing the gigantic mountain, talking, grinning and chuckling together. After like an hour we sat down for a moment on an immense uneven and dusty rock close to the waterfall. The wind that blew through the trees into our confronts now conveyed a light sprinkle from the waterfall, and a clue of peace. The sound of the wind shrieking, the waterfall smashing against the stones and the fowls singing their wonderful tunes, made me feel considerably more joyful than I was at that point. We began moving to the top once more. My legs began to hurt yet I didn't give an indication of my torment. I raised my eyes to the sky, and my sight fell on the hawk who skimmed over the wind. At that time, I craved flying as well, over the mountains and over the oceans. I strolled slower now, thinking how brilliant it would be to fly, and the greater part of the…

In the article, The Empty Nest by Lillian Rubin discusses how middle aged women look at the idea and notion of their children leaving the home. The Empty Nest syndrome occurs during a transition phrase when a mother's child is coming of age and about to leave the dwelling. Studies now show that this "depression" was once thought to have the same wide spread negative effect, but recently has been viewed as the direct opposite. This article depicts how women of different social classes and marriage arrangements feel about the idea of their children leaving the home.…

When I open the door it was like a home filled with love and purity my ideal home it was just perfect. As soon as u walk in you see an average size kitchen on the right and a big bathroom with a bedroom on the left and when you keep walking straight there is a living room and a balcony with the most spectacular view of the pier and upstairs there is a bathroom and two rooms. For the first week or so it felt like I was in heaven waking up in the morning and looking upon the whole town covered in fog going to the rocks and looking for crabs, snails, and shells. One day we decide to go to the ocean and although it was cold we went and started searching for shells and then we found something that I happen to know what it was but never actually felt it alive and fresh out the water. I picked it up and showed it to my friend and we started running to the apartments and showed everyone what we found, everyone had their mouths open and started to touch it. There was a tiny voice that started to say to put the purple starfish back because it deserves to live and so i went back and tried to go as deep as I can to lay it down so no one will harm it. For many days we went to the beach till sunrise to sunset watching the tides rise and decrease and seeing the…

Standing in the middle of the hotel’s lawn, there's a deer with brown fur like melted caramel. Frightened by our presence, the deer galloped off into the woods. Wind starts to blow hard against my face, as well as the trees. Almost like the wind was trying to prove it could blow us down. Snowflakes began to fall from the sky like a white wedding dress was being shredded to pieces. They were soft and sticky… perfect for a snowball. High pitched sounds of migrating birds fly high in the sky like a violin on a high note. Rabbits scurry across the ground into their dugouts, almost like an army crawl. The last of the leaves fall gracefully onto the ground from the trees like a feather dropped…

The sky is clear as the deep blue sea. The main focal point was the bright orange full moon, which is accented by the glitzing stars. The reflection of the moon stretched across the lake in the country pasture to my left. The wavy water caused the moon to move as if it was a boat in the middle of the lake. I strolled along the wooden bridge as the moderate, meek breeze brushed the hairs on my skin and my nose. There was a continuous melody of insects singing, while the owls, frogs, crickets, and other night creatures blended in like background singers. The planes soared through the sky, displaying an array of lights, which appeared to be shooting stars. The deer and foxes, as well as other wildlife, welcomed themselves to their playground as they ran, jumped, crept, and played…

It started as the first weekend of winter break. I was running as fast as my twelve year old legs could let me. My dad was parked outside the house with the truck loaded with camping supplies. I leaped into the truck and we were off. We were heading north to spend our weekend in Flagstaff, Arizona. We arrived to our destination around supper time. The evening trees had a small eerie glow to them. The only light that you could see was from our man made fire and…

I woke up bright and early which was a little unusual. I got up and walked into the kitchen because i could hear the whole family in there. I walked in to be greeted by a wonderful smell of bacon and eggs, i knew this smell because there was a breakfast shop right by the old bridge. I watched the family go on with their business. The girl soon walked over to me, sat down and started to pet me. Later on they brought their plates piled high with food to the table. I followed them and watched them eat while they watched TV. They soon were done with breakfast and they all went their separate ways to go get dressed. After an hour the whole family was in the main room dressed and ready to go out. I didn't want them to leave because i would be lonely and i didn't…

After giving the pile of old tree limbs she was pointing at a good second stare I saw it. There was a roof slightly sticking up from a mass of brush. I had lived right up the hill from this location for 9 years and had been down to the camp dozens of times, but never have I ever noticed this small roof that was roughly 100 meters away from the camp. We sprinted on through the scraggly brush, being pulled back on by plenty of branches and jumping over small creeks. Tumbling, jerking, and fleeing was pulling everyone back, but yet was pushing everyone forward. We stopped dead in our tracks after what felt like hours of sprinting and adjusted to the spontaneous sight that was in front of us, sending my eyes into…

It all started when I was hovering outside of an old lofty Victorian hotel. I knocked "three" times waiting for someone to come and greet me and show me to a room, but nobody answered and the door opened itself; at first I thought it was the wind but the air was as till as an untouched glass of water. I went inside and searched for a room, when I found one I unpacked my things, but when I put my hairbrush down onto the bedside table was a reflection of an wrinkly old man, I looked around but there was nobody insight. I felt a chill and my hairs stood on end. The weather took a turn for the wore. I fell asleep.…

    An Abandoned House

    • 340 Words

It was a hot, summer's day as I walked on the dirt road with only silence along my side. As I continued on the road I discovered it led to an old abandoned house. I couldn't help but stop for a few minutes and look at the details of the huge, strange shaped house. I noticed that it had been a long time since anybody even took a look at the house. The old house was left to die, alone, with no one to care. The paint was peeling, the windows were broken and the shingles had been torn from the roof, probably by past storms. What caught my eye was that the unkempt yard, it looked like it hadn’t been cut since the house was abandoned, the grass was almost my height and there was nothing but weeds everywhere. I imagined this house would’ve probably been huge and gorgeous in its days. It had three full stories. The fourth floor had an attic where you could sit and see the sunset on the horizon. The house also had a huge porch with large white columns making a fence to support the balcony. The columns were full of dirt; they looked less white and more brownish-black. As I slowly continued to walk past the house, I could hear the wind whistling through the broken windows. I could see the leftovers of the curtains moving gently in the breeze and the grass swishing left and right in the wind. As I was giving the house a final look I thought I saw a silhouette of somebody beside the window gazing upon me so I started to walk a little bit faster. As I walked I wondered how much longer this house could stand up to the rain and wind before it surrendered itself to nature or would people destroy it and replace it. Maybe it would just be left alone there and would continue standing quietly with its dark, window eyes begging for mercy.…
