Ad makers try to send messages to people buying magazines that mean so much more than the ad. Some might notice this, but some might not. This ad that I have chosen has a lot more meaning than the ad itself. This ad some people might think it’s just an ad, some might think it’s ridiculous or might take insult. They’ve hidden the true meaning between the phrase in the ad, “Together We Make Football Bold” and the New York Giants shirt the women wears. But as I’m looking at the page it occurs to me that the lady has darker skin than others may have. In the middle of the page she stands, with a red and blue concrete wall behind her. I also notice she wears a nice shiny necklace and shiny bracelet. But also has a red purse in her hand. In the right bottom corner it reads, “NFL Women’s Appearl Available At NFLshop.com” Also next to that is the NFL logo, that we should all know so well because the color’s of the ad are red and blue. That's the biggest question. Because in society would we as people consider a woman of this color an American or not. At one time this woman or ancestor of this woman would be considered a slave. American or not? But she is advertising American football. Do people feel ashamed with her advertising an American sport or are they completely fine with it. I believe there’s no problem with it. But as I think, now that a darker race person is different than an American in some people’s points of view, is she socially acceptable to be in this ad. But for those football lovers, that believe it’s an all American sport. Are they okay with her in this ad? But in all fairness, she does have her rights in this day and age.
