It was the end of our eighth grade year, we are all excited to be going to highschool next. But the most exciting part is the trip to Great America.Where there is no learning, no getting in trouble for having fun it's just you and your friends having the time of your life. But most importantly it's the time of year where all the boys and girls try to meet people from other schools an exchange numbers.
The morning of the trip my friends and i are talking about what ride we'll go on first, who will sit next to who and complaining about how long the ride there will be. As we are talking the loud speaker went off and announces for all eighth graders to head for the gym. At the gym we are assigned buses and told the rules and how to behave. Me and my bestfriend are assigned to the same bus, we sat together and talked about how exciting it would be to try and talk to other boys from different schools. After what had seemed forever we arrive, we get our tickets from the teachers and run off to find everyone else. Once we are all together we get to our first ride. We look at the line and complain that if we wait that long we won't have time to get on other rides. As always i'm the loudest from our group and while i'm complaining i catched a glimpse of cute boy that was looking our way, my friends won't stop talking but i got

When you think of Ellis Island, you usually think of a historical landmark. But Ellis Island has a long and interesting history to it. Back in the 1800s, Samuel Ellis owned Ellis Island. He made the island into a picnic place for the Swedish. It was purchased in 1808 by the Federal Government to be used as a Government Arsenal Fort. The need for immigration was first realized in 1847 when a severe potato famine in Ireland led to thousands of starving people storming into New England and New York. Ellis Island was the first place that many of these people came to upon entry of the United States. When these immigrants were finally granted the freedom to enter the country they brought with them many new ideas and traditions.…

The moment when you were first born is important. The moment when you first go to school is important. Many things happened to us in the past , but we only remember it vividly, probably because it’s not that essential so we’re not bothered by it. However, we will remember our watermarks forever even if we’re growing older by the days because it makes us who we are. Different people have their own different lives to live, so of course everyone’s story is not the same. As for me, the one watermark that I still remember until now was when I moved to America back in 2008, because it has changed my life forever.…

Finally we got into line I was the second person in line my aunt was in front of me. When the staff rolled the next train in we got on. I was the lucky one because I said I want the green train and thats what I got. We sat on some faded yellow padded seats. As we rolled out I could hear the roller coaster making a clicking noise. Next the staff came and tightened our seatbelts and pulled down our safety restraints. They all stepped back pressed there green buttons and said “Clear!” really loud. We rolled out very slowly then the countdown happened all I saw was the lights go from red to green is half a second then we shot straight up 120 mph then 130 mph straight down. When it stopped, it stopped really fast and it made you go forward and it kinda hurt. When we got off we had the biggest smile on our faces “that was the best 17 seconds of my life”, I said. Then we went to the exit and went to go meet up with my mom and brother; then we got our funnel cakes. I learned that not all roller coasters are scary and that I need to be a lot more…

One summer night, my friend called me and told me that the fair was in town for the weekend. She thought it would be a great idea for us to meet up with some other friends and go to check it out. So we met up at the parking lot of the fair ground and walked in together. My friends never knew that I was afraid of heights, so I was hoping that we would just walk around and leave. We walked up to the booth to purchase some tickets and proceeded inside. So we walked around for about 10 minutes just browsing until we approached this one ride that caught my friends’ attention. We all looked at each other and screamed, “Let ride!” I hesitated and told them I rather sit this one out. My friends assured me that I had nothing to worry about and that nothing was going to happen. They continued to literally beg until I finally gave in. We waited in line until the ride stopped for the next group to get on. As I was standing in line, my heart was pounding and I began to sweat. As I stepped onto the ride and strapped myself in, I knew there was no turning back. As I felt the ride began to go back and forth, I quickly closed my eyes and took a deep breath. As the ride began to go higher and faster, I began to scream! All of a sudden I felt the ride stop. I then opened my eyes and saw that I was upside down and there was a very long drop. The ride began to go in complete circle until it stopped. After the ride stopped, I decided that I wanted to go for one more ride.…

September 1st, was always the first day of every school in Hong Kong. This day in 1993, was my first day of secondary school life. I woke up bright and early, while my two younger sisters were still sleeping. Mom was surprised that she did not have to wake me, as I was usually the last one in the family. I cooked my breakfast like always; I had been doing that since my mom had to take care of my sisters. After breakfast, I changed into my brand new uniform; it looked like my old one but it had a different school patch. In my nice looking uniform and a big empty backpack, I walk across the street to the minibus stop. There were a lot of students, all with sleepy faces, already waiting there. I was both scare and excited as this was my first time taking a minibus alone. After I got on the minibus, I tried very hard not to fall asleep because I was so worry I would miss the bus stop. As the minibus turn into the street my school is located, I shout “Stop after the turn!”, that’s how passengers notified the driver where we get off.…

Before leaving Jacksonville we stopped to Wal-Mart so everybody could rack up on what they wanted so we wouldn’t have to stop but for gas or something.…
