Tryouts Reflection
Ending my junior year excitedly summer was going to began, one thing I looked forward to all school year long but this year it was different this time around.I looked forward to something else. I wanted to try something new and different, something I have never done before. Since I was small all I could remember was wanting to be a cheerleader in high school. Just the preppiness, attitude, and sass, I knew I would do great because I had all those traits. The cute cheer uniforms and bows and all the fun and excitement Cheer came with.

Countdown to summer begin with only 10 days left of school but I was not counting down to summer I was counting down to Cheer tryouts that following Monday, Monday came around and with contemplating and being

Later that night I practiced my kicks, jumps, and the dance perfecting it more and more the more times I did it. That following night, I went to bed very proud and happy of myself.

Wednesday comes around the next day and today is the last day of tryouts before we actually tryout and perform in front of Coach Stevens and Coach McMorris. We go over everything we learned the previous day at tryouts. I'm improving little by little the more we would go over everything. The only thing that would mess me up was when I would see one on of the two coaches staring at me. I would get nervous and start messing up because I wanted to impress them and I was doing the complete opposite.

That day after tryouts I went home very unhappy because I didn't do as good as I could have and what Im capable of doing. I just kept doubting myself and thinking I was not going to make the squad. All that was running thru my mind was negative thoughts.

The day is finally here the final day of tryouts and the day we find out if we made the team or not. After school, I go get changed for tryouts and I begin getting nervous all over again. AT tryouts we go over the dance and the cheer making sure everybody that was trying out had it

Olaudah Equiano 's The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, or Gustavus Vassa, the African, Written by Himself, is the story of the eponymous real-life character, Olaudah Equiano, his life, trials, tribulations and journey from slavery at an early age to freedom. For Equiano, it seems that slavery is almost a metaphysical phenomenon. His entire life is essentially characterized by the different experiences relating slavery, from Africa to the Middle Passage to plantation life in the West Indies and United States. Equiano’s views on slavery are tough to articulate and truly complex. Throughout the novel he makes reference to different ‘degrees of slavery,’ at times condemning the practice, and at other times contradicting himself and seemingly lauding it. I believe that his conflicting views are products of his first hand experience with nearly all aspects of the practice, and near the end of the novel it is clear that he is in favor of ending slavery.…

7th grade tryouts were the first time that I actually had to try out for a school sports team, It was the most nervous I had ever been in my life up to that point. The summer that led up to tryouts consisted of throwing off that Louisville Slugger net to work on my fielding. I had made the improvements that I felt were necessary and put in the hard work that now has defined me as a player and as a student.…

As we entered the last week of practice, I wanted relish what I thought would be the last few moments of the season. The varsity head coach was present at the last day of practice, and I was surprised when he pulled me aside during a drill. He told me that he had noticed my success during the season, and he wanted me to join the varsity team; for the varsity team still had two weeks of practice left before the state tournament. I held in my excitement and accepted his offer.…

It was tryout week and I was very well prepared. My game was sharp and I was ready to be on that team. The week went by and I was not playing as great as I wanted to. The last day shows up and I am just a couple of strokes out of the team. I knew I had to do something special. I started out fantastic and was inching closer to the team. We came down to the last shots and I was right in it but this happened. My worst shot of the week when I needed my best shot happened on the last hole. I finished up knowing I had failed and did not make the team. I was sorrowful and depressed and did not know what to do.…

Everyone on my team, including me, were 120% focused during our warm-up because we were versing a good Illinois team and their team’s name was Euro SC Select. This team had a lot of skilled and fast players that were definitely bigger than us. Most of the players on this team were very aggressive and physical too, so my team had to be very strong. There weren’t many times when my soccer games were really intense, but this game was very intense to watch and the parents were getting so nervous and anxious. It was a really close game and we ended up tying the game 0-0. Because of the tie in the championship game, we had to go into penalty kicks. My coach got to choose 5 people to kick from the penalty box and they have to try to make it in. My team was so scared to the point where we all held hands and we stayed very close to each other. In the end we were happy because we had made 3 out of 5 goals in and the other team only made 1 goal out of 5 shots! To phrase it better, my team won the tournament and we all lived happily ever…

I was extremely nervous despite the fact that everyone had told me I was going to make varsity since I had done so well at camp. There were about 23 people trying out for varsity and only 18 could make it and so I had a good chance at making the team but that still did not calm my nerves. Before we went out to the brand new turf field for tryouts I was psyching myself out and was doubting myself in all ways possible. My hands were shaking, I was sweating, all while listening to the calm chatter of everyone else echoing loudly in the locker room. “You can’t make varsity; the others are just too good” I was telling myself. During tryouts the pace was fast, the humidity was high, and our spirits were just as high. We had to do lots of ball work and ball skills on the first day and I was messing up completely at times. At one point I screamed out in utter anger because I just could not get my feet to do the correct things. I was so angry with myself because I knew I could do better than what I had done that day. I went home feeling utterly defeated but ready for the next day because there were two days of tryouts. The next day I felt absolutely great and I was doing everything right! I was passing every drill while receiving complements from my coaches. I felt great and as I was walking up the big, blue steps to the locker room, I knew that I had done great at…

I woke up at 3 o’clock in the morning to get ready for my flight and i was so tired i thought was going to fall asleep while eating. Finally my friend and his dad came and picked me up so we could leave. The drive to the airport was 1 hour so i fell asleep while we were driving. When i woke up we were here. We were at the airport and we were right on time. Our flight left in 2 hours and it was 5:30 in the morning. It takes a long to get through the security and we were going so fast. We got our bags checked in 10 minutes. During the end of my freshman year I had received an email asking if I could attend a tryout to see if I would make the team that would be heading over to Europe to play soccer. When my mom told me that I had to go to soccer I asked her why, she said that I had a tryout to see if I would be picked to go to Spain and Portugal to play in two major international soccer tournaments that are held there. When I was told this I was very excited. I went to soccer on the weekend to go to the try out. I had got there and my two best friends were there so I was really happy. Then the practice started, we all started off doing the same thing. I was having fun and I was doing good. All in all the practice went good. About two days later I received another…
