UNIT 1

1.1 There are many different reasons why people communicate ,people communicate to express needs or to share ideas and information also to reassure and express feelings another reason is to socialise and to ask questions. People communicate in order to establish and maintain relationships with others and to give and receive information and instructions and to understand and be understood as well to share opinions,knowledge, feelings and emotions.

1.2 Effective communication affects all aspects of my own work as it ensures that information is clear, concise, accurate, non-judgemental and informative. This reduces the possibility of mistakes being made, and ensuring appropriate care is delivered, also it is important to work as a team with my colleagues,so that we all work to achieve the same outcomes and targets.

1.3 It is important to observe an individuals reaction when communicating with them as they may not be able to communicate through speech so you would need to look for other signs like facial expressions or body language.

3.1 there are many different barriers to effect communication such sensory impairment, culture,religion,health issues,noise,stress, emotions and also strong accents or people speaking different languages.

3.4 A few sources of information and support or sources that help with more effective communication are translation services, this service can help with changing the written text from one language to another, also interpreting services ,this service can help with converting spoken language to another language and also speech and language services ,this service can support people who have had a stroke or have problems with their speech.

4.1 Confidentiality means not sharing information about people without their knowledge and agreement, and making sure that written and electronic information cannot be accessed by people who have no reason to see it.
