1:1 Review the range of group individuals whose communication needs must be addressed in own job role. In my job role I communicate with many varied groups. On a daily basis communicate with clients and their families in order to deal with any queries or concerns regarding the support we provide. I have frequent communication with external agencies Social Services, CPN other support agencies to discuss concerns regarding the clients’ health and wellbeing. On occasion I am also required to contact GP’s if a client becomes unwell I may also have to talk with other specialists, alcohol and drug services in order to make referrals on behalf of or at the request of the client. In addition to these I am from time to time required to attend Multi-Disciplinary Meetings to discuss how support has had an effect on the service user and weather the support is the right support. I also maintain good communication on a daily basis with the employees at Aspects Care so that they feel they are able to seek advice and express any concerns they may have. I also communicate my own needs and concerns to my line manager via email at our team meetings if available.

1:2, 2:4. Explain how to support effective communication within own job role. Lead the implementation of revised communication systems and practices. To support effective communication within my job role I encourage the staff to discuss any concerns or suggestions for improvements to the service. I do this through supervisions/appraisals. We also give the staff the opportunity to make suggestions in our Monthly staff meetings. Staff are invited to put any points they would like raised on an agenda placed on the staff notice board at the start of the month. Where they have the opportunity to discuss any element of their personal and /or work related concerns in confidence with myself as their supervisor. In

    In my role, it is important that I can communicate in the correct way to ensure that the needs of the service user are understood and are dealt with correctly. Effective written and verbal communication and being able to use a variety of interpersonal techniques helps to promote strong working relationships and will promote good quality care for the service user. For example when I meet a service user on the initial visit we discuss their needs and wishes to ensure they receive the appropriate care and support package that is individually tailored to meet there needs.
