What are your professional goals? How will an MBA/GDM/GCCM from AGSM MBA Programs help you?
I intend to pursue a career with an insurance management firm focusing on the healthcare industry after acquiring my post-graduate degree. As I coordinate account management projects across functional groups, I will increase and gain exposure on cross-functional management and develop my leadership skills.
In the long-term, I plan to build a market leading-enterprise as a senior executive with a firm in the healthcare industry. I am keen at facilitating healthcare reform initiatives in my country. For instance, there is a vast impoverished sector in my country unable to acquire health coverage. I believe that everyone should have an equal opportunity for health security. From my professional experience, HMOs can be so financially driven that they neglect the needs of the marginal community. I plan to change that and hope to find viable solutions through the AGSM MBA program.
In line with my objective to make a positive contribution to my country’s health industry, I have much to learn from the Australian healthcare system. The mix of private health insurance, Commonwealth, and State Government funded services such as the Medicare health insurance scheme can be a model for a business framework which can be adopted in my country given current government’s legislation. Perhaps a non-western business framework such as that followed by Australia will be an inspiration in facilitating initiatives together with business insight from AGSM.
I consider Australia to be the ideal country to pursue an MBA because of its thriving economy and its multicultural set-up. Studying outside the confines of my country and engaging with AGSM’s dynamic cultural diversity is an excellent opportunity to broaden my business perspective. Furthermore, the International Exchange Program of AGSM is an attractive opportunity to widen my knowledge and business networks.
