You might include exceptional hardships, challenges, or opportunities that have shaped or impacted your abilities or academic credentials, personal responsibilities, exceptional achievements or talents, educational goals, or ways in which you might contribute to an institution committed to creating a diverse learning environment.
Very few people go in to college knowing and practicing their area of study for ten years, so that is why I feel very fortunate that I have had that opportunity. During that time, I learned how to use several graphic design programs, built websites, graphics, and videos freelance for various clients, and had jobs at both a small graphic design company and another local business doing video marketing. I have also been involved in Youtube’s
Partner Program, where I have earned revenue on my videos based off of their large audience and viewership.
I started at a young age by creating my middle school’s website for our band class. The website was linked on the school district’s website where it got several thousand views throughout the year. Word got out that a student had created the site, and soon I was getting requests to create web pages for many different teachers at different schools in the area. When I got in to high school, I joined the school’s news program and each year I won a UIL award for the work I did on the graphics for our school’s news program. After high school, I went to work for the small graphic design company, and then moved on to pursue opportunities in other companies.
Although I have always had an interest in graphic design and video production, I was looking for a way to expand my knowledge and market my work in a way that would be relevant to others. Many schools I looked at had a basic art degrees, but I felt that
