Did you know the Navy is the only branch where you get to pick your job and what you want to do for that branch? Also there are sometimes in the Navy where it takes about 4 months or even more to get to where they needed to be in order to fight. I did not know a lot of those facts until I decided to interview my cousin, Griffin. He has recently just stopped serving in the military because he never gets to see his family. Griffin had served in three main wars in his time period that he served. Griffin served in the Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Inherent Resolve, and Operation Decisive Storm. Him and his team had traveled to the Purgen Golfs two times, the Red Sea, and the Gulf of Aden. He will always remember that he got to see so many things as he traveled and had saw the tallest building in the world and Tylan, Malaysia. Sometimes it would take him and his team four months to get where they needed to be and when they got there they would constantly be busy. He became super close to seeing combat but he did not see any in the time that he served. Griffin has had many challenges such as not being able to see his family and going many hour without relying on any sleep. Griffin has been awarded two main medals and they are the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal twice and the Globe war and terrorism medal. He had received the Navy and Marine corps achievement medal for serving in the Navy during war time and he got his Globe War and Terrorism medal for going above and beyond in his service time.
