Water - the Elixir of Life
I wonder if you know my life story. Most probably you don't. So you may be interested to listen to what I say I was born in the forests of America. I grew to be a tall tree with soft wood.
One day I was surprised to see many men coming into the forest. They begaaan to cut down cruelly many of my friends and I shook with fear. All at once a man came near me. He gave me many severe cuts with his sharp steel axe and felled me down. I cried with pain when a huge machine cut me into big pieces. I was made to roll down the melting snow which had made the ground very slippery.
Many of my friends and I were brought to a paper machines. Here we were ground into very soft powder which was then mixed up with water and a few other things. It was pressed between heavy rollers and spread evenly on water proof cloth. When it became dry it was polished by passing through stone rollers and was pleased to find that I had taken the shape of white paper.
After some time I was packed in wooden boxes and taken to a port. There were many steamers waiting. And I was put in one of them. In about a month we reached Karachi. Then we were taken to a printing press it was a noisy place. But I liked it. A large number of men and machines were at work. The presses worked day and night to bring out the daily newspaper.
One day I was placed on a big printing machine Every hour it turned out five hundred thousand copies of a sixteen page newpaper. They were cut arranged and counted by the machines. Then carts and railway carriage carried us at full speed to you. Isn't all very wonderful?
You find in me up to date news of the world and beautiful pictures. Have you ever thought how news and pictures are brought to the printing press? The camera the wireless ant the teleprinter are all at my service. These work for me day and night.
These in fact work for you as I serve you in so many ways. I let you know about the latest books about the market prices and about the works of art painting and

One of the most significant and remarkable incidents of the Middle Ages was the series of conflicts known collectively as the Crusades. Generally these conflicts were militant pilgrimages to the Levant (though sometimes elsewhere) undertaken by medieval Europeans in the name of Christendom. Though there were many political and social issues involved in the whole affair, the primary theme, however superficial, was religious. The adversaries in these “wars” were non-Christians, namely Muslims, who were widely seen as the oppressors of Eastern Christians. Those engaged in the Crusades, especially the authorities preaching and administering them, believed that the Saracens (Turks, Arabs, etc) were intruding on lands that were inherently Christian. Two important primary source texts which explain this justification for war are Robert of Rheims’ account of Urban’s Speech at Clermont and La Chanson d’Antioche (The Song of Antioch) by Graindor de Douai. Though they are very different types of sources, written at different times and for different purposes, they both illustrate the reasons why Crusaders felt they were fighting for land that was rightfully theirs.…

I was tired and my face was numb; I forgot my face mask at my uncle’s house. I wasn’t in any rush to get home but the wood stove and my comfortable bed was a pleasing thought. The headlight on my snowmobile was only shining about ten feet in the distance when a giant moose stepped out in front of me. I immediately pulled my breaks, but it was too late to avoid contact. I was looking up at the towering moose; ready to fly forward all I could think about is how to survive this situation. My body became calm and everything went quiet. Then all of a sudden the big hooves came crashing down just…

I waited out in the cold and snow for what seemed like forever. I eventually saw our car pull up to the park. I saw my dad and my brother get out of the car and hurry towards me. When they got to me, my dad picked me up and carried me to the car. We got in and he drove me home. Then he helped me get out of the car. The pain was so bad I had to hop to the door. Once inside our house, I hopped over to the couch, and laid down.…

I blankly looked up at the cold sky. The best part of this moment was that snow began to fall, which acted as an ice pack for my head-wound. Everything feeling as it was glazed over, I saw my brother get up, rage filling his face along with disputation. I cocked my head in an uncomfortable position to see him walk over to the smirking guard. Tears filling my eyes I witnessed as my brother punched the guard right in the nose. The he jumped on him and wrestled him on the slick and icy ground. The guard, twice his size and stature threw him off stood up and fired one loud shot. My brother crumpled up on the ground. I brought my hand up to my head in pure shock, longing for this to be my imagination, when I felt a warm smooth and sticky liquid coming out my head. I brought my hand down to in front of my eyes to see that the color of scarlet red on my hand matched the color of the blood on my big…

I was playing dodge ball. Usually I'm not very good at it, but one day, I was the last one on the court, and someone threw the ball at me. At that moment, I felt like the end was near. I heard mixed yells from my friends; yells of "Run" and "Catch it!" I almost felt the ball hitting my face as it was coming toward me! I closed my eyes! I heard a loud bang, not unlike a ball hitting someone. First, there was silence, then yells and cheers! I didnt't feel any pain. I realised that since I hadn't felt any pain, I had probably died. Well, I lived a good life. It had seemed that my death had been inevidable to me. I opened my eyes and looked down, expecting to see my body, lying on the floor. but it wasn't. 'That's strange', I thougt, I looked at…

I’m standing right at the edge of what it seems like the end. My little toes hug the sides of the edge, begging not to take one more step closer. I stare into the calm blue beast beneath me and it stares right back. I could tell that the beast knew how scared and nervous I was. I cautiously dipped my right foot into the water; big toe first and the rest followed. “There is no way I can do this,” I thought to myself. “The water is not the right temperature, the lifeguard is not going to help me, my feet won’t touch the floor, my hair doesn’t look good when it’s wet.” I stood at the edge, making up all types of excuses a seven-year-old can tell his mom.…

On a cold December day one week before winter break my life was flipped upside down. I was a 5th grader waiting for my mom to pick me up from school after tutoring but, my uncle picked me up that day I asked him, “Where’s my mom?” “Why didn’t she pick me up?” My uncle redundancy , didn’t say a single word to me during the car ride home. As I got to my house, I saw the ambulance outside of my house, hoping nothing was wrong. I open the door hope the first responders weren’t there but as I open the door I accidently hit one of them with the door. As I stepped into my living room saw my mother on the stretcher unconscious, not speaking, not moving. I saw my little brother and little cousin crying their eyes out, I started to bawl also and start screaming ; “Why did this have to happen to me?” “Why my mom?” At that moment, I didn’t know what was happening.…
