Week 6 Persuasive Dialogue
(The scene opens with Jason, up before everyone else, drinking a cup of coffee and staring out into space. He looks curiously at the planet, wondering what adventures await him there. Now that he knows the Glactians are after them, it puts a different spin on things. This means any ship, any planet, any new species, could be a potential threat. Jason doesn’t like that feeling.)

(In a the next scene, Jason, Caleb, Rex, and Nikki are down on the small planet, investigating. Everything about the place seems deserted. It’s nothing but dark blue rock and green sky as far as the eye can see. For about an hour, the team walks and climbs about, seeing if there is anything useful for them there.)

(Rex is standing by himself on a large pile of rocks.

(Thinking quickly, Jason draws a large net, casts it over the little creatures, ties them up, and throws the lot of them into a pile of sand. They’re already clawing and biting their way out.)

Rex (on the ground): Are you kidding me!? (It really bothers him that such little creatures got the better of him.)

(Rex tries to get up but quickly feels a sharp pain in his knee, and screams.)

Caleb: Rex! Are you okay!?

Rex: Errrrggkk!! My leg!!

(Nikki pulls out her communication-watch to contact the Captain.)

Nikki: Mayday! Rex is injured! We need assistance!

Captain (through communication watch): Roger that. We’re sending out Team M. Try to get Rex closer to the ship, so he can get there faster.

Nikki: Understood.

(Nikki turns to Jason and Caleb.)

Nikki: Jason! Caleb! Help me bring Rex to the ship.

Rex: Errrrrrrrrrrrhh…

(Team M helps them inside the ship. The irritated little creatures, now free of the net, are hurling small rocks and stones at the ship as it takes off with Rex inside.)

(The next thing we see is Rex sitting at the edge of a hospital bed with his leg extended and a leg brace strapped on.)

Dr. James: So, what happened, Rex?

Rex: What do ya think happened!? I broke my

If possible, try to avoid pushing each other over the edge, as that would cause me extra paperwork.” The coach opened the doors, and they all stepped outside. The Grand Canyon spread before them, live and in person. Extending over the edge was a horseshoe-shaped walkway made of glass, so you could see right through it. “Man,” Leo said. “That’s pretty wicked.” Jason had to agree. Despite his amnesia and his feeling that he didn’t belong there, he couldn’t help being impressed. The canyon was bigger and wider than you could appreciate from a picture. They were up so high that birds circled below their feet. Five hundred feet down, a river snaked along the canyon floor. Banks of storm clouds had moved overhead while they’d been inside, casting shadows like angry faces across the cliffs. As far as Jason could see in any direction, red and gray ravines cut through the desert like some crazy god had taken a knife to it. Jason got a piercing pain behind his eyes. Crazy gods ... Where had he come up with that idea? He felt like he’d gotten close to something important—something he should know about. He also got the unmistakable feeling he was in danger. “You all right?” Leo asked. “You’re not going to throw up over the side, are you? ’Cause I should ’ve brought my camera.” Jason grabbed the railing. He was shivering and sweaty, but it had nothing to do with heights. He blinked, and the pain behind his eyes subsided. “I’m fine,” he managed. “Just a headache.” Thunder…

The author did a magnificent job to persuade my thinking toward health care system in the United States that health care should be considered as a fundamental right to all U.S. citizens. The author’s essay was easy to follow, well constructed, and straight-forward to his topic sentence. Writer had a strong introduction, supportive points, and a conclusion. The author provided enough facts to support his /her argument regarding health insurance should be accepted as basic right for all the U.S. citizens just like education. Health care converges are very expensive that a normal person cannot effort. I like the fact he presented in his/ her writing that even citizens with health insurance will still end up paying out of their pocket. Insurance companies more concerns about their profits than providing health coverage. There is always a waiting list or have to wait in line to see a doctor even if you are covered by insurance. The entire U.S citizens have to stand up and fight for their rights. I also realized that the author did not use any I statements, which means the author is not bias. That is true that having health care system to the U.S. citizens will save many lives and courage the health of all Americans.…

Throughout Navajo history there are articles and statements that many of the youth don’t know the Navajo language because of the past history. It has not been a major issue in the Navajo Nations eye’s until the recent Presidential candidate, Chris Deschene was denied to run for Navajo Nation President because he could not speak Navajo fluently. Today majority of the Navajo people are not able to speak Navajo, let alone read and/or write it. Have education and economic status become more important than one’s native tongue? Well not exactly, unless you decide that his scaly, grey skin and webbed, deformed feet is human like. Not that I’m worried because having a time portal accessible to you, it’s inevitable that you question life forms anymore. Confronting the ‘man’, I asked him in a round-a-bout way, where I am hoping to find clues to which planet I’ve happen to step on. “The Terrunious planet of the Frodon galaxy” he answered with disdain. That’s not where I was headed at all! I thanked him before leaving.…
