Being independent you can't be conceited, you have to be altruistic. It can’t be all about you people wouldn't like you you, you have to show selflessness. Help others care about them that's how you make lifelong friends, an act of kindness.
Maturity is an important part of growing into a young adult, no one will take you seriously if you are immature.
The older you get you have to make decisions for yourself and you have to make sure they are wise decisions.for example if you are a boss people rely on your decisions like; firing, hiring, promotions, financial situations, so they matter. The choices you make now affect your future if you make the wrong ones they can come around and bite you in the butt. In certain circumstances if you make the wrong decisions there would be consequences, if you skip school to mess around with friends and your parents find out and ground you, you deserve it. School is important you might not get the greatest paying job there is or go to a top notch college if you don't go to highschool. If you do something stupid and not think,”How will this decision affect me and my future”, you deserve the consequences. It prepares you for life, knowing the right from the wrong so when you have to make a decision it will be
wise.
The more you develop into a young adult you gain more responsibilities. School is a big one, for example keeping up with grades sometimes it can be hard. Making sure you understand the lesson you're being taught so you can maintain your grade, or going the extra mile to get help if needed. School gives us responsibilities to simulate the responsibilities we’ll have in life, so when we get older life won’t catch us by surprise we will kind of know what we are getting ourselves into. You have to take initiative, when you take initiative people think highly of you they see potential in you. You put out a I’m a go getting attitude. Carry that with you your whole life taking the initiative with certain responsibilities.
Coming of age you have the pros and cons, but that's life. Life isn't just paradise all around, there are downs. Growing up is apart of that, it's a natural thing we can’t stop so why not make the best of it, at least the part we as humans can control. Staying positive, being confident and having selflessness. Coming of age, you'll have independence, knowledge and responsibilities that's just some of the requirements of living in this world.
