voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice’. Jesus used this figure of speech, but they did not understand what he was telling them.”…
1. Jesus is using what is known as the “Socratic method” of teaching, using question and answer. It was not for the teacher to quiz the pupil but for the pupil to quiz the students. It emphasizes learning readiness because it focuses on the need of the student. Jesus did ask questions, He asked…
Storing medicines, care worker/assistant must have correct packaging for medicines depending on how long journey can be for example, if a short trip there are brown bags available from local chemists/pharmacy to store them in for short journeys. Care workers/assistants need to keep them in a cool environment and have a list of all medications just in case a service doesn’t not take them and identify which service user…
This teaching shows us that Jesus only loved. No matter what he faced and the persecution he dealt with he only showed love and compassion. He loved and forgave the people…
Christ goes up on the mountain, and sits down--the traditional position of teaching during these times. The disciples then came to Him. Christ doesn’t force His words on anyone, but He insists, “He who has ears, let him hear.”…
In His deity, Jesus was allowing for His disciples to see that He was able to perform miraculous signs, and that God is the only one that can change one substance into another with His creativity and power.…
In verses 1-3 Jesus compares himself to a vine, and God to the one who takes care of that vine. Coming off of that vine are the saved Christians such as the disciples, whom he is talking to. The branches that are cut off are people who never believed in the Word of God. Then in verses 4-7, Jesus makes the point that once followers are compared to branches, then they are essentially one with the vine because of their necessity and connection. Specifically in verse 6, the destruction of the dead branches can be closely related with judgement…
"To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given," answered Jesus after his disciples asked him why he spoke in parables. When Christ gave us the parable of the sower, he also gave us true life questions that we must answer. This parable gives us two great questions; What type of soil are we? What happens to the Word of God when we hear or read it?…
This teaching can be used across the board for all worldviews. Although, these are the characteristics of Jesus’ teaching, these characteristics should be used by all. These are great morals that one should have regardless of the worldview.…
For instance, Jesus explains to his disciples that he is the way, the truth, and the life and only through him will they have access to the father (14: 6-7). He’s pointing out that the father and him are connected, but he wants them to understand that they are connected as one. Leaving peace with them he encourage them to rejoice and be glad with him for he is going to the Father (John 14: 27-28, 15: 5-7). The portrayal of Jesus in this episode is more joyful than the Jesus at Gethsemane. Comparatively, in the gospel of John the writer presents the Passover with a commencement of cleansing to demonstrate Jesus’ love for his disciples by performing the work of the lowest of men (John 13: 5-17). Jesus states that this act of love allows the disciples to have access to an inheritance in him (John 13:8). The inheritance spoken of is not of earthly manner, but that of the purpose of Jesus’ coming. It is because of love, and the redemption of mankind that he came (John 1:29, John 3:16). Through his crucifixion he proclaims the scripture greater love than this, but for a man to lay down his life for his friend (John 15:13). As a result mankind will be restored unto Jesus himself, providing access to an inheritance of eternal…
And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, "I need a caretaker." So God made a farmer.…
The message conveyed by Jesus at the Sermon on the mound is essential because it can help gain insight to understanding that time period. During this time period Christ was preaching to predominantly Jewish people. With this in mind, his listeners would commonly be familiar with the Old Testament writings. Jesus’ teachings were similar to that of the Old Testament but were less strict and trendier. Since the Romans were persecuting the Christians, concepts like turning the other cheek and forgiveness were more appealing to the people of that time. Jesus speaks of being humble with their religion and if they do not obey this rule then they will not be rewarded in the afterlife (Penguin, p. 140). This idea is appealing because it allows his followers to try and escape persecution but at the same time be good disciples. Appealing beliefs can also be seen when Jesus tells his followers to be more then cooperative with authority and “If someone wants to sue you and takes your shirt, let him have your cloak as well” (Penguin, p.140). These passive behaviors spoken of by Christ are examples of teachings that were molded and affected by the Roman Empire.…
The main purpose of the article is to inform the world about the problems of poverty. The Organization habit of humanity builds homes and are doing everything they can possibly to help the people who are suffering from poverty. Men, women, and children are not having the necessities that the human body needs to live for example, food, water, shelter, proper clothing. The message the article is trying to send is for the public to contribute to help in any way as possible to give those in need another chance at life. Geroge stated to readers that it is not right to judge poverty in the United States by the standards of other countries. This behavior doesn't help end America`s problem with third world poverty and depression era poverty.…
Jesus educated them. A lot of workplaces have adopted the unwritten rule of the more you know the more valuable you are. This leads some to believe that information gained should be information held from others. Then, as time passes that person moves on and no one else is knowledge of that job criteria and overall the company fails. Jesus did not believe that, he empowered everyone with the same knowledge that he had. As Christians, we should give everyone the same training and education that we have.…
Many verses in the Old Testament foreshadow Jesus’ coming as the Son of God and the ultimate sacrifice on the Crucifix. By understanding the events in the New Testament, it is possible to understand better the events in the Old. There are numerous verses of typology in the Old and the New Testament, that it seems as if the whole Bible is one big book of typology. By discovering the verses of typology, it becomes easier to understand the reason for Jesus’ life, death, and ultimately his genuine mercy and love for all…
