It all started when I walked into the church, it was my first time volunteering ever . The event that was taking place was a fundraising event for the church itself. Thomas. But, the one that struck me the most was when I helped out at the food kitchen. I was able to see firsthand the nature of all the people that can't afford to buy a meal. these homeless people with deteriorating clothes and bad state of health, come in for a plate of food . I realized that being materialistic was not the best thing in this world. That what really is important is that you have shelter, food, and water. These basic essentials are somethings that some people wished they had. It changed the way I saw life, and it made me more mature. It wasn't really based on what clothes I was wearing or what phone I had in high school. It was really about life now. That in high school I worried about materialistic things, now I cannot do that because I have to worry about the expenses that matter to me the most. Like they say, the first eighteen years of my life is just a free trial to the game of life. How your survival instincts kick in after you hit adult age. How sometimes it's hard for people at adult age to do anything and fall. When they fall, the ability for them to obtain food, water, or shelter is destroyed. I could relate to this society of homeless people in a way that I could see the struggle that they have to endure to have secure shelter or acquire food. I believed that the way that they welcome someone really is a game changer. It attracts someone to join the church. They help you out and really do things for you that go above and beyond. This gave a push into me joining this congregation. They introduced me into the bible and taught me how to read it and how to follow a righteous path towards heaven. I was able to choose Jesus Christ as my lord and savior. I believe that through all this, it has guided me in the right direction of finding the meaning of life. Which is to follow Jesus Christ's righteous path and love my neighbor. If I had not found God then, I do not not what I would have done. So I do believe that God comes not when you're at your best but when you are at your lowest. But to sum it up, if I do not follow these guidelines then all I have been saying is trash and I'm back to living a life in
