What Happened Analysis
What Happened?
In my most recent week at College Park Academy, I focused on completing the A-3 objective. The focus of this week was to teach the students to be able to prepare themselves for a certain diet, whether it is gain weight or lose weight. To begin, the students and I went through our normal routine work out which includes stretching, running, basketball, and agility drills. While we were working out, we all shared stories about dieting and how it has affected each one of us. Then for the last hour, I gave a presentation about healthy eating and the different types of dieting. I spoke about how to lose and gain weight in a healthy manner while sharing example of popular foods that are not as healthy as they seem. The students asked several questions about how to lose weight and gain weight to prepare for sports. After, I quizzed them verbally on the things they had learned in order to make sure they retained the knowledge.
So What?
Before the week began I did not think the students would have any experience dieting. I was wrong when I assumed that because nearly half of the student shared stories about

Before this week, I did not feel that my service partners and I were an effective team because of the lack of communication. The lack of communication created more problems such as not being able to solve the problem of not having enough kids and the decision whether I should come on a different day of the week. This week my service partners proved me wrong by being more readily available to talk and communicate. We spoke about how to solve the problems we were facing and decided on a new plan. We decided to have me come the same days but at a different time. This solved the issue of time constraints with students and I should expect more parents to sign their children up for the program. I am very happy with how the service partners and I are now building an effective

One of the leading causes of death in America is obesity. Healthier food options and nutrition start with our youth. Changes to schools breakfast and lunch options can give the students an opportunity to improve nutrition and health. Then maybe we can prevent obesity from continuing to be the cause of death for so many American’s. We want to work within changes to the new breakfast and lunch programs to help children fight obesity. Not every food option has to be something sugary or fried. In 2000, DSM senior executives were provoked with a dilemma to either continue on supporting the past business services that DSM used to offer – the core petrochemicals business – or make an eventually courageous investment in the future via growing the life sciences and performance materials businesses. Subsequently, when they decided to go for the latter and alter the company’s portfolio through divestitures and acquisitions in food and pharmaceutical sectors, DSM primary objective was to make the company concentrate on growth opportunities. In addition, DSM’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) organizational infrastructure was absolutely decentralized. However, to serve the needs of a giant company that was going through rapid yet massive transformation, it was vivid enough to identify the essence of a complete transformation of ICT organization; that is a standardized ICT infrastructure (i.e. networks, servers, desktops, internet, service providers, and larger business applications such as SAP). In order for ICT organization to be a business-oriented management organization with service delivery skills, DSM had to outsource partners to facilitate the acquisition process and enable faster and smoother integration into the DSM organization. One more challenge DSM executives faced was the fact that they had to involve ICT in the acquisition of the Vitamins & Fine Chemicals Division from Roche, especially when they had underestimated the cost of disentanglement and integration by a factor of 20, which more realistic figures had then been taken into account. The integration and transformation of Roche Vitamins had been done simultaneously; thanks to the VITAL program (which brought on a huge advantage later on when EVITA was introduced). DSM executives learned that with ICT…

The author of Mistakes Were Made (but not by me) created the idea that memory is reconstructive and source confusion to criminal justice. Our memory helps to recreate old moments from our life so they will not be lost because our brain only selects highlights from an event, it is reconstructive in this way. Source confusion can be known as not being able to distinguish your memory that came from later information. Criminal justice is related back to source confusion because we often justify our own actions and asks ourselves various questions such as; “I said that?’ or “ I did that?” Many of us make implications when we are trying to remember an event from the past when we are trying to answer those questions.…

Some children had been doing very well, and so the teacher had many positive points to explain to happy parents, but, some children had not managed to achieve the targets set, or had a lower than acceptable rate of attendance. This required very effective communication as the parents had to know that there were issues that needed addressing, how the issues needed to be addressed and that if there were any relevant underlying problems or concerns that they knew about, the parents could, with confidence, tell the teacher, so that the concerns could be taken into account and helpful advice or referrals to other professional bodies could be arranged if necessary.…

P3.6- I used snack time as an opportunity to do an activity by telling all the children about eating healthily and their 5-a-day and how milk is a good thing to drink as it gives them calcium which is good for their bones to make them big and strong. I told them that there is a 5-a-day chart and I printed one off for them so they could see what types of foods come from each section. I then asked them to tell me what their favourite foods are so I could tell them what food category it goes into and whether or not they should eat a lot of it or just a bit.…

Rather than having a presentation on all of the health problems in the community an interactive presentation to get people involved will be used. The goal of the fair is to educate the community on their diet and obesity and how it effects their long term health. The nutritionist part of the fair can involve a game where parents and children have to sort food depending on if it is a grain, protein, fruit, dairy, or an unhealthy food. This activity will help them identify what foods are essential to their diets. They can also have a station that lays out what foods they should eat even if they do go to a convince store or fast food restaurant, they can provide a healthier alternative meal.…

From the beginning, my main objective was to change the behaviours within the group in the hope that a lighter and buoyant atmosphere would emerge within the centre. Not only did the children get involved but so did the co-workers. My supervisor also acknowledged the work that I had achieved within the short time frame which definitely boosted my confidence. It was warming to see the children strive to achieve their goals and to notice their attitudes lift when they arrived into the after-school every day. The line “how many more starts do I have to get now?” was a regular, and I loved it. If I were to do something differently going back I would have organised and started the intervention itself a couple of weeks earlier. Some children got involved a bit later than others and I felt that they may have been rushed a little. From carrying out this intervention, I have learned a lot. Firstly I have learned that good relationships are respectful, playful, enjoyable and rewarding, and I believe that I have portrayed this thoroughly throughout my intervention. I have learned to assemble on the children’s abilities, interests, and experiences as well as supplied for their needs and facilitated them to initiate activities, to make choices, and to become increasingly independent and responsible. Lastly, I have learned to take account of additional needs and supports children may require in order to participate as fully as possible. As Franklin D. Roosevelt once said “Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort”, this was the motivation for such a successful…
