Discovering the wide spectrum of health sciences as a biotechnology undergraduate, I opted to pursue a Master’s in Clinical Research, where I studied its aspects, which dealt with diverse approaches that could be effectively applied to address people’s health problems. Data Management and Pharmacovigilance. Ideating with pharmacologists and research scientists in conferences and symposia, like, Advanced Clinical Research and Pharmacovigilance in February 2011, I gained insights into the ongoing research in the field. Moreover, inquiring for my review article on ‘Clinical Research Regulation in India’, as co-author, I further honed my skills at collecting literature, compiling information; presenting interpretations. Importantly, as my eyes were set on a career in the public health domain, I enrolled for the Pharma Regulatory Affairs postgraduate diploma, concurrently, while a graduate student of Clinical Research.
A year’s tenure with the Central Drugs Standard and Control Organization, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare where my work involved critically examining and reviewing applications for clinical trials, processing applications for protocol amendment and Test Licenses and preparing background notes and expert letters for NDAC/SEC meetings, were enriching experiences, especially as I intend to work in the public health …show more content…
I am particularly interested in research with regard to Health Care Epidemiology. Studying it at the advanced level, understanding the interconnection between the prevalence, frequency and determinant of a disease in a population set will augment my knowledge base, exponentially. Eventually, as a qualified epidemiologist, I will conduct studies; analyze collected data from the previous or present populations to further provide a path to develop strategies and prevent health problems for generations to
