Supplier is a person or organization that provides the products or services to another person or business. Develop and maintain effective relationships with the suppliers in line with the company’s policies are vital to the success of the business. This is because build strong business relationships with the suppliers can bring a lot of benefits to the business, such as reduced the costs by getting the lower prices and high quality products or services from the suppliers, increased efficiency and communication with the supplier of market intelligence, and enable organization to outsource non critical activities to the suppliers to reducing internal workloads and increasing efficiencies.
One of the strategies that can help the Bread Garden Bakery to develop and maintain effective relationships with the suppliers is the company should always pay on time. The company should not necessarily only visit the suppliers when it is needed, oppositely they should always be in contact with the suppliers and visit their office frequently. The Bread Garden Bakery should try and personalize suppliers’ relationships by inviting them to company events and parties such as anniversary dinner, year-end banquet, and celebration to interact with them at a more personal level. The suppliers should also be invited to attend and give suggestions in some of the company strategy meetings to develop the sharing of knowledge, service benefits, and opportunities to gains benefits for both.
