She was born on 9th of May 1921 and died on 22nd of February 1943, at the age of 22. She was a German student and a revolutionary, active within the White Rose non-violent resistance group in Nazi Germany. I bet not all of you or even none of you know what is the White Rose group. So what is actually the White Rose group? The White Rose group is a student-led pacifist movement aimed at spreading the truth of the Nazi government and students who were fighting against racial discrimination.

And I would really like to remind you all what life was really like during that time.
Nazi Germany was a totalitarian state, led by the dictatorial powers of Adolf Hitler. They exercised 100% full control over every aspect of a German’s life. They accepted absolutely no alternate views or resistance. To even utter that you disagreed with Hitler was considered high treason and was worthy of extremely harsh punishment. And this is also the reason of why the White Rose Non-Violent Resistance Group was formed. The group believed in taking non-aggressive means to try and overthrow National Socialism and achieve peace. The most prominent way in which they did this was through distribution of pamphlets containing messages denouncing the Nazis' crimes against
humanity.
But unfortunately, she was then convicted of treason after having been found distributing anti-war leaflets at the University of Munich with her brother. As a result, they were both executed by guillotine.
Since the 1970s, she has been celebrated as one of the great German heroes who actively opposed the Third Reich during the Second World War. And on 22 February 2003, a bust of her was placed by the government of Bavaria in the Walhalla temple in her honour.
Her perseverance, dedication and courage spread hope. She really was a strong hearted and brave girl who stood by her ideas and beliefs till the very end despite what others said. She never gave up even she knew there would be a lot of challenges ahead. She stood up for her own country and what she believed in, no matter what the consequences are. And only at the age of 22, she showed Germany and the world that a small group of people could make a huge difference.
This is the end of my presentation, thank you!
