Asking ‘Who doesn’t want a Compliance Program’ is like asking ‘who hates their mother’? No one is going to actually speak up and say ‘Me! My mother was a bitch!” – Even if she actually was. So who wouldn’t want a real compliance program in their company??? It protects the board, the executives, gives them greater control, and provides transparency. Individuals in authority may promote AH, often without realizing what they are doing. They feel justified and right in their behavior because they are certain they are the only ones who know what is best for the company. That is your hook, maybe your only hook. That is how you convince Mini-Kings to implement a compliance program. You need to sell the idea of a compliance program as a way for them to ‘control the kingdom better, reducing their own risk’ (they don’t actually think they have risk, but if you can convince them they’re not actually
