However it is also key to know when to say enough is enough, “tell me later” “hold that thought and tell me at break or lunch”. This way the kid knows that you are listening but they have the information that something else is happening.…

To be able to reach a substantial relationship with the children and their families a relationship should first be initiated, it’s essential to be able to communicate with them, this not only means just talking, but body language comes into it highly, without a good communication level, vital details and information that could be beneficial to you and the child could be missed, therefore effecting your relationship with that child in the workplace which could be damaging in the long run. Within the workplace certain challenges could occur when it comes to communicating, you should take in your stride different way to use to your advantage, for example another way of great communication is sign language, this is a great way to communicate with parents that are hard of hearing, another great way is by using things such as flash cards, so not only showing them a picture of what you are trying to say but it’s also written with words underneath to really emphasise on what it is you’re trying to explain. It also allows them to know what happens next. Routines vary and change as the baby grows, as babies are very different to children, for example older children will like to do things there selves, whereas babies are very vulnerable and need everything doing for them.…

The first thought that comes to mind when reading this quote is that no child should ever have to feel this way. It is heart breaking to realize that more children then we know have to endure such things on a regular basis. If a child is to worried about having to protect him or her self at night they are not getting the necessary sleep and rest they need to function.
