Why Are Public Safety Important

I agree that public safety is of utmost importance, but there needs to be a balance between safety and security. It may not feel like it on a daily basis, but you are already under the guidance of someone for essentially every minute you are awake. In the United States, all citizens must conform to the laws and ideals handed down by governments on a local, state, and federal level. These laws are created as a guide for what is acceptable in the current society, and whether we like it or not, we must conform to this guide, or face consequences for our defiance. While most of these laws do make sense, and are in the interest of keeping the public safe, we are certainly not free to make whatever choices we want.
In addition to a strict legal perspective, we also conform on a daily basis to the social norms that are acceptable in today's society. While we may not think so, or feel so in everyday life, we are all conform to the guidance initiated by government, law enforcement, and society every day.
